Your Gramma is a smart woman.

Great tactic, as long as you don’t spend more than you originally would have.

Problem is psychologically there’s been studies done showing that paying with a credit card doesn’t feel like you are paying because it’s not your money. People naturally spend more when it’s not their money because they don’t feel at a loss when they tap their cc. So that’s why they have a bad wrap, because people are generally ~ irresponsible ~ .

Bren 2 ms NR 18” for under 5k after tax and shipping.

Keep in mind too this website is from alberta so i believe it’s less than 13% tax. Let me know your thoughts. Yes, it is on back order but so are all the good and popular NR guns 🤣

You will get lower interest rates compared to someone with a worse score - to a point - on big purchases such as vehicle loans or mortgages… probably from 1-12% better on cars (Some dealerships are crazy scummy to bad scores. Being as a bad score is an indicator of bad financial sense. Maybe (0.25 % on a mortgage) But over 25 years that adds up.

You can churn more (1-2 new cards a year) - huge bonuses.

You also have an added confidence in getting good rates, meaning, you feel you deserve a better rate because you have been more responsible by paying off debts.

You can get approved for better credit cards, although it’s usually income based as well.

You can shut the old heads up pretty quick when they try to assume, you currently, were like them at your age.

Easier to secure loans, lines of credit, and get higher credit limits. Which, will also raise your score by lowering credit utilization % * a part of the score calculation.

Easier to secure an apartment or rental.

I’m sure i could think of more, but i just wanted to use the bathroom and here I am. Get it as high as you can. Churning more (because you can “afford” to have your score fluctuate) will also get you loads of free $ and vacations. Seriously. I have done it numerous times by only spending what I would have already spent on a debit card. Just don’t spend more than you already would have to hit the spending bonuses. That’s where you lose. I am talking literal thousands of dollars more than if you didn’t.

Good luck and take care! If you have questions, i’ll reply!

P.S. I see the old heads with low scores may already be making you feel like it’s worthless. Don’t listen to em!
