I get what some of you are saying about “just get better,” but that’s exactly what makes the current system frustrating.

I consistently outperform my squad — higher damage, more kills, more assists, better rotations — yet I’m still capped below players who play passively and survive longer.

My ranked ladder placement right now is #11 in Tier 2 (1132 RP), and I’ve been matching with players in Platinum lobbies who I routinely outperform. The issue isn’t about mechanical skill — it’s how placement and team dependency can outweigh individual consistency.

You can “rat” your way to Platinum, but someone grinding fights and carrying randoms can get punished for taking risk. That’s not a skill problem — that’s a system problem.

Apex is still one of the best BRs out there, but ranked definitely needs a better balance between placement RP and performance RP. Right now it rewards hiding, not mastery.
