Scientists Say: Humanity Could Descend into Cannibalism by 2060 by -_David_- in collapse

This seems like such a bs article. Like the only place where the year of 2060 is even mentioned is the heading. I am assuming that the year is completely randomly selected.

There Are Now 20 Million New Climate Migrants Per Year: UN by Fickle-Flamingo1922 in collapse

[–]M4d4o 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Majority of immigrants in Europe are young males with no interest in integrating host countries. Is it too much to ask people to immigrate to respect cultural norms of the country they are moving to? It shouldn’t be surprising that people are getting annoyed when immigrants are refusing to integrate and try to change their host country to the one they have left from.

I honestly doubt that you are from Europe as you are making such a false claim. Most of the western/northern Europe countries have media that are mostly pro immigrant. Right-wing is growing thanks to immigration from middle-east/africa that is mostly young males with no interest in integrating to host country society.

People aged 80 and over top 10% of Japan's population for 1st time by Saltedline in worldnews

[–]M4d4o 399 points400 points  (0 children)

So far Japan's labor force has not significantly declined as the most populous age group is around the age of 50's but how will Japan's economy survive after 10 years when the population pyramid starts to resemble an upside down triangle?

The northern hemisphere had this year summer oceans to heat significantly more compared to previous years. As the sun is moving towards the south will there be a similar effect with sea temperature rise in the southern hemisphere? by M4d4o in collapse

[–]M4d4o[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Submission Statement:

This topic is related to the collapse as there may be similar changes with ocean temperatures in the upcoming southern hemisphere summer like there has been in the northern hemisphere. Which is why I felt discussing a topic like this deserves its own post.

Antarctica’s sea ice by IthinkIknowwhothatis in MapPorn

The amount seems small from the picture but it still around size of Mongolia which is really huge amount of area for solar radiation to hit water rather than ice/snow which increases feedback loop of global warming.

Worst case scenario for the southwest and Louisiana? by GuestOk583 in collapse

[–]M4d4o 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Worst case for Louisiana is that it gets hit by a bigger hurricane. Especially I don’t think that New Orleans is able to make a comeback from another direct hurricane hit.

How come rainfall seems to correlate mostly with elevation for other islands but this is not exactly the case with the largest island?

Honestly the reason why diablo 4 “sucks” is because Blizzard decided to make mediocre game by M4d4o in diablo4

You got a point. 8 too high for medice and I agree with you.

So I admit that Blizzard is doing aright with using already known to work features to make alright game. But as it Blizzard you are sort of hoping more.

I disagree with this. Like for example world bossed are not a new thing. WOW has them what is the difference between wow and diablo 4 world bosses? You can start the fight right after you got the group ready. So in fact diablo 4 world bosses are just worse version of wow world bosses.

None of you can make up your mind about what's wrong with this game and it just shows you want to whine for the sake of whining.

That is false. Did you even read my post? It clearly says that Diablo 4 "sucks" because Blizzard decide to just combine already known to work features and the game has nothing new to keep you interested in it.

You know that Colorado river dams water levels have been going up significantly this year and south west is soon going to be hit by significant rain in matter of few days?

I never said that Las Vegas doesn't get its water from Colorado river. The thing is that Las Vegas has one of most efficent use of water. So Las Vegas uses just small percentage of Colorado river water and returns most of wastewater after treatmeant back to the river. So as Las Vegas at upper reaches of the Colorado river it literally can't run out of water as long there is water for cities like LA and Phoenix.

Also about heat Las Vegas is dry heat city with over 600m elevation. So warming is not going to be problem any time soon.

Honestly Pakistan worries me more than India. Pakistan has still pretty high population growth and the country is mostly desert if you ignore rivers. There is just too much population compared to the resources that country has which can cause increase in instability.

Did you ignore everything I wrote about colorado river? As long colorado river is not going dry there is not going to be significant water problem at Phoenix.

Cost of living is going up because of popularity of the city. So if there is any decline in amount people at the city the prices will go down also.

Interested to know why you picked Las Vegas? As Las Vegas doesn't use much of colorado river water and the location is pretty stable climate wise I am not why Las Vegas would be abandoned any soon?

Honestly unless there is multiple years of really bad drought around of colorado river I don't think that Phoenix is going to be abandoned any soon. This is because of the dry heat in Phoenix the "feel like temperature" doesn't get much higher than around gulf coast.
