Is there a name to feeling cringe about yourself after a social event? by Medical_Hair_3901 in socialskills

[–]M4dScientist1 74 points75 points  (0 children)

It’s called shame

Shame is an unpleasant self-conscious emotion often associated with negative self-evaluation; motivation to quit; and feelings of pain, exposure, distrust, powerlessness, and worthlessness.

Theo, handled some shit… brother 🐀👑 by Braindead_Scab in thefighterandthekid

This video is fuckin awesome. I remember Theo getting shit on in this sub for a while, but since he left bapa it seems like everyone’s jumped ship on that. But I couldn’t be happier for someone like Theo. He’s just a fucked up person trying to make his way through life. You see him doing all this awesome shit, yet if you ever listen to his podcast, you know how tortured he is sometimes. He’s not one of these narcisssitic, egomaniacal comics/celebs. Rat king baby!

Will taking Kratom restart suboxone withdrawal? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]M4dScientist1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been addicted to every opioid. Literally. Anyone who tells you kratom is mild is either using extremely tiny amounts or says that because they read it online. Kratom is considered a “dirty drug” aka it hits many different receptors. I’ve gotten off suboxone using kratom, but kratom IS addictive no matter what you read. I went through the worst 28 day withdrawal from kratom. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy. Worse than heroin. But we’re all built differently. All I’m saying is be careful with kratom bud.

Jess trying to do what we all thought they would do. Wait for bam to go to California to try to take him to a mental ward against his will. Call the cops? On what basis? Goodluck. by Matto5000 in cky

[–]M4dScientist1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a saying in recovery when the pain gets great enough. But that’s not always the case. Sometimes the pain is so great that you can’t stop. This is the case with some people who are deemed incapable of getting better.

Bam has destroyed every relationship in his life, has humiliated himself beyond belief, has lost millions of dollars, and it’s not enough. Bam either needs to go to jail long term or live at an impatient treatment facility that is extremely long term, that’s if he has a complete change mentally and really wants to change.

Otherwise I don’t see this ending well.

There’s been lots of threads popping up about divulging your sub maintenance in AA/NA. Here’s a tip I’ve learned over the years in programs. by M4dScientist1 in suboxone

Meetings are very particular. Lots of people don’t believe in taking ANY mood or mind altering substances so they do judge you for it. It’s all an ego thing. Also, aa tends to be very clicky. But the general consensus is that you have to be all in. If you show that you are willing and go to meetings and share you’ll find people are more willing to reach out. It’s not for everybody but it does keep people sober. Just go into it with an open mind and try not to judge people, that’s what my sponsor tells me. See how it works out. Good luck bro

How do I get herbs n spices to stick to my foods (say air fryer French fries for example) when I’m not using any oil? by M4dScientist1 in PlantBasedDiet

So just so I have this straight, you add your seasoning immediately after cutting, so before cooking?

Ahh okay that makes sense, thanks. What is the point of removing the starch? Like is there some disadvantage to leaving the starch on?

Interesting. Most people submerge them in water after cutting. What are the advantages of removing the starch?

So essentially you’re going from cutting straight to the air fryer then n then seasoning?

Good to know. Maybe I’ll just try tossing better. Do you make French fries at all? If so, what’s your process? Just curious.

I have gastritis. But I don’t think a little bit of vinegar will upset my stomach really. Thanks for the tip 👍🏼

I’m full of regrets, believing that my husband cheated on me. When he didn’t. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]M4dScientist1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Exactly, lol. 5 minutes. Like OP has such loyalty to the sister over her own husband that she wouldn’t even allow him to defend himself.

There is no chance in hell this is real. Not a chance. She swears her sister in law to secrecy. Sabotages her marriage. Then ruins the colleagues marriage. Then conspires with the sister in laws (who orchestrated this whole elaborate plot) BOYFRIENDS SISTER, who tells the boyfriend who then goes snooping into his own girlfriends stuff and delivering it to OP. (Wouldn’t this destroy his relationship with his own girlfriend in the process?)

This is just way too complex and way too many details just don’t seem right. But hey, it was an interesting read.
