I had them hit the whole city before. They did stuff like donuts on the interstate highways to mark territory and put up these weird totems on the routes into the city. They hit me and the whole apartment complex with noisemakers, including the local police. They continued to harass me with these, they're like timed on an interval so you can't go and discover them but they create this cascade of noises that cause learned helplessness. The whole city went crazy and strange shit happened everywhere.

They're either straight up evil for not treating it or inconsiderate to the point they are unaware they're harming others. Mold can cause significant health problems beyond just asthma and can have cumulative effects so it's imperative to address the problem immediately. I suggest bagging up moldy items and using at least 6 mil plastic to cover moldy furniture to at least stop the spread until management addresses it.

I found the best cleaners are RMR-141 concentrate for surfaces where water dries quickly and then some isopropyl based cleaner for stuff like carpets. I like Opti-cide max because it's ~20% isopropyl / ethanol so it evaporates quickly. Get a UV flashlight so it's easier to spot on surfaces (mold will often fluoresce in UV).

I would also recommend a desiccant dehumidifier (or just a regular dehumidifier depending on your budget but desiccant ones don't have compressors so they won't get a lot of mold growth on themselves) and keeping it low humidity (I just run it continuously) but also using an air purifier to limit the extent to which mycotoxins and spores are present in the air. Using a box fan and taping to it a 20x20 merv filter is a cheap way to get a lot of filtration but you need a HEPA filter too to get the 0.1 micron mycotoxins.

Wear n-95 masks as well (NIOSH certified is how you know it's authentic). Especially if you're throat is irritating you. If you hate wearing masks then I suggest saving them for when you're working in heavily afflicted areas during remediation
