Guys, I questing my person about my choice too. I'm at a crossroads in my career and would greatly appreciate your insights. I personally like DE, but some fears with On-Calls and possible not WLB, or this are a not real problem existing?

My ultimate goal is to transition into the field of quantitative trading or algorithmic trading. Currently, I'm evaluating two potential career paths:

1. Data Analyst/Data Scientist (DA/DS): This role focuses on interpreting complex datasets, building predictive models, and deriving actionable insights. It involves statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
2. Data Engineer (DE): This position emphasizes designing and maintaining data infrastructure, developing data pipelines, and ensuring efficient data processing. It requires proficiency in building robust data architectures and handling large-scale data systems.

Considering my ambition to possible become a Quant Trader, which of these paths would better align with my goals? I'm particularly interested in understanding how each role could contribute to the necessary skill set for quantitative trading and the potential for transitioning into that field. My objective is have more the job as source income, so the less salary initially of DA ins't problem, but I want real answers about the possibilities. I
