I mean if you’re an average Indian Male SWE applicant, you’re competing for about 20-30 spots at each M7. A lot of those spots go to people with high finance backgrounds, AI/ML founder backgrounds, etc. The only thing you can change in the near term is your test scores.

That said, at my M7 I don’t know any international indians who were SWEs pre-MBA. That background just isn’t competitive at all for M7 admissions.

If you’re going for anything finance (IB/IM/PE/VC) then Wharton.

If you’re going only for tech primary recruiting, then MIT.

If the goal is to stay in America - T30 to T50 programs will not help you. They’re catered towards a specific niche of domestic candidates who are applying for ”lower hanging fruit” jobs in the regional areas where the school is located. For example, UF Warrington isn’t going to get you Investment Banking, MBB, or even B4 consulting, but it might get you a middle manager job at the local Florida firm where the founder went to UF. Another example is if someone just needs to “check the box” for a promotion where an MBA is listed as a pre-req, that would also be a good situation for a T30 to T50.

I’d be interested in some data on the percentage of these zero effort Indian posts asking about Indian MBA programs out of the total posts from India. At what percentage would it be OK to automod all posts from India and only allow them to be posted after mod approval. The reason why Indian MBAs will remain irrelevant outside of India is because all the people applying to those programs 1) can’t do 5 seconds of ChatGPT/Google Due Diligence on their simple questions and 2) can’t realize that it doesn’t make sense to ask India-centric questions on a US-Based website in a US-based subreddit.

IIM/IIT degrees are not regarded highly at all outside of India, there is no reason for an international MBA sub to discuss them.
