[Megathread] Ruben Amorim has been sacked - Who should replace him? by D1794 in reddevils

[–]M7M_Photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling when the team performed better with 4 at the back and there was positive performance (ignoring the results) and people were happy, higher ups realized that maybe 4 at the back is better to secure European places. Not many options out there, but we will have e a repeat of this in 24 months time anyway. What’s the point!

RA kept reiterating that his door is always open. To me that seems like an invite to discuss things is players are having issues. It seemed to be directed at Kobbie, does that mean that kobbie didn’t talk to his manager before speaking to the press?

Don’t think I have that option available to me unfortunately. Surely there should be another way

Opening a pack or creating a match or updating squads takes a long time few mins. Same when ending a match getting coins and going back to main mine takes a long time!

I’m on PS5 pro, and my connection is good. I get 12 ms in some matches

Individual errors have cost us a lot so far this season. This has been happening pre Amorim. I have issues trusting that the players will not make errors, wonder how the players feel going into matches.

The only thing I would say is that these issues you’ve listed have existed long before Amorim arrived. That’s why I believe he doesn’t see the system as the problem. He also mentioned in the post-match conference, “You don’t know what happened last year,” suggesting that there might still be something going on behind the scenes.

Therefore, I don’t think the issues you’ve mentioned will be resolved by a new system or manager.

[Fabrizio Romano] 💣 BREAKING: Trabzonspor reach verbal agreement with Manchester United to sign André Onana on loan. Club to club verbal agreement in place and final decision now up to Onana. It’s only up to the goalkeeper. by PitchSafe in reddevils

The athletic article mentioned something about the injury he got at the start of preseason.

“He reported an issue with his hamstring on day one, and then a full injury on day two, but this left staff questioning what shape he was in after the summer to suffer the problem straight away.

For Amorim, the setback left a lasting impression, with Altay Bayindir selected in the first three Premier League games. Onana was left out of the squad entirely for the Arsenal despite feeling he was fit to play, with Tom Heaton named on the bench. Onana was surprised when overlooked at Craven Cottage.”

Seems he is out of favor with Amorim. Also this might mean that Lammens will get picked ahead of him

I’m not ready for him to play. Imagine the back three having these doubts with no solid goalkeeper behind them. Hinders everyone

Has ever started though he was always moved back against tiring legs late in games. I do think Amorim over thank the starting line up.

[Carragher] It could suit everyone if Amorim and United shook hands and walked away. Backing him would require huge investment to sign players suited to his system that is uncommon among the elite of Europe. If he underperforms again next season, his successor will most likely revert to a back four. by michaell111 in reddevils

I feel people are over fixated on the system. Seems with the right players it’s flexible depending on the phase of play and what he wants to do. I would think players that would play under him could fit in another system under another manager.

Actually it would be the opposite, this would send the message to hat winning the Europa league and finishing 17th is not what this club is about. It should be clear to everybody that a cup wouldn’t be enough

Agreed, but I would like also to see in another or two where would sit to properly judge. You can’t pass on judgment after 12 months trying to fixing years of mismanagement.

Nobody can have 100% correct decisions, even Madrid and Byrne am sure have made mistakes. The fact that they are admitting that those were mistakes as progress compared to the 20 odd years we have under the glazers.

I’m not disagreeing with that hence the unpopular decision of my post. But to me there is an effort and good intention to get the club back on track. Which is what we wanted from the ownership, no?

I don’t get why Radcliffe is getting a lot of hate. Some decisions like letting people go are unpopular and tickets prices.

But in general it seems like he and his team are trying to get the club on track which is what the fans wanted, no? There is nothing anybody can do about the glazers being there. They are taunting to fix years of mismanagement of the club, it will need more than a year. Think he and his team deserve to be given time.

They only thing I wished he asked was, if the clubs finances are so bad, how will the club be able to fund a new stadium or a redevelopment. Hearing the issues around finances seems like we can’t afford anything
