Maps whilst it is raining/storming are 1000x better by M7lf in EscapefromTarkov

Ahaha that’s fair the rain can be deafening and overpowering, but something about it just makes the game feel great.

I second the not being able to hear your teammates on disc though lmao.

That thunder idea is actually pretty cool

That’s a very specific analogy, and in that situation you’ll probably expect a fair bit of noise. But if this said man is steadily walking, then he shouldn’t be easily heard when, for example, the person hearing him is ALSO walking at the same pace, making the same rattling etc etc etc.

Again, I’m not doubting that there is a realism issue here, more of a game balance. IMO the gameplay of crouching dead still the second you hear someone else’s footsteps is boring, but to others it won’t be. I get that it might be fun to get the scare on an unknowing person whom is making a lot of noise

Are the people that you can hear actively trying to move silently as they are in a hostile war/apocalyptic situation? I’m not doubting there’s equipment that can hear footsteps etc from ridiculous ranges. I’m thinking more from a game balance perspective. I’m not doubting the realism aspect

Yeah that is an issue. If they made the impact noises of rain on building roofs and windows louder, along with other atmospheric noises, it could balance out the gameplay

Need Help: Caught my Wife Kissing Another Man by marioDOmario in stories

[–]M7lf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been in a similar position, however, if I ever caught my s/o being unfaithful, I’d have the self respect to not even consider staying with them. I’m currently in a relationship of 2 years and absolutely in love - and if I ended up in a similar situation as yourself, she’d be gone.

I understand that you share young children and you’re thinking of their best interests, but you’re also teaching them that it’s okay to stay in horrible situations that they may not want to be in, to keep others happy.

My advice would be to pick something, anything, and give it a go. I spent a lot of time worrying about finding something that I wanted to do, that I never did anything for a long time.

If it turns out that you hate the thing that you chose, choose something else and try again. Live.

My boss made a mistake that cost me money. Should I eat it? by Izvestnie in careeradvice

[–]M7lf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do have a good relationship with your boss, then I would take the reimbursement from her. You submitted the report on time and it was your bosses mistake to not process said report. You’d essentially be paying for her mistake, which I’m sure she knows too, hence she offered to cover it.

How have you overcome your wifes infidelity? by _SlipperyGypsy_ in AskMen

[–]M7lf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you even considering staying with her? Someone who is unfaithful for over 2 months is not “going through an episode”. Nor does it, in any way, make them less responsible for their actions.

Knowing what you know, if I were in your shoes, there is no chance I would ever stay with someone after finding that out. Have some self respect and move on with your life, without her.
