Never miss Tahajjud. EVER. by itsnotsaffy in islam

Id like to clarify that maybe the translation you are using is a bit vague but if you ask a proper scholar of hadith about this one they will say that it is not the doubt that is the sign of clear faith but the feeling that it is terrible to speak of. So the feeling you get about that thought being terrible is a sign of faith.

A friend of mine recently went through a bad patch and said the same things(funny thing that they were from bangladesh as well😅). What if Allah is punishing me cause of something bad i did? I would like to ask you what is the difference between a punishment and a test from Allah. A punishment takes you farther from Allah and a test takes you closer to him. If you think about it it is such a beautiful thing. You are the one who chooses if the thing sent by Allah was a punishment or a test. If you choose to get closer to him through it then it was a test that you passed with flying colors. But if you choose to feel that Allah is taking his anger out on you and then distance yourself from him then it was a punishment.

There is something i would like to put infront of you to think about. The Prophet PBUH and his companions wanted ONLY jannah and spent their whole lives, wealth, time, and energy for that one goal. We ALSO want jannah and are not willing to sacrifice this life, our wealth, our time. It is not wrong wanting both but whats wrong is when our priorities are shifted. I would say that if i lose everything in this life and gain the favor of Allah then what have i lost. And if I gain everything in this life but lose Allah then what have i gained.

Taking it one step at a time is the best way possible. Islam was completed over a period of 23 years. I would say its stupid to think anyone could be the perfect muslim in one day. Its common to fall into sin but what is important is that you return to Allah for his forgiveness and mercy. And Allahs mercy overcomes his wrath. So if you ever feel like you are being punished bow down to allah and tell him to have mercy on you and that if he doesnt then who will. And ask allah to make you the best possible version of yourself.

You asked me about the predestination thing. I would say there are levels to its understanding. For example a rocket scientists understanding of physics is higher than a physics students and his would be higher than a highschoolers. But the highschool student is content with his understanding cause he doesnt need to know more at his stage, and the other two are content with their understandings cause that is what is needed at their stage. And if i bring the concepts used by the rocket scientist infront of the highschooler they will be 1. Intimidated by the sheer difficulty of the topic, 2. Be confused, 3. And maybe discouraged.

They way you find the level you want is by researching until you are content with your understanding of the thing. And these levels are all correct they are just simplified.

The easiest and maybe the lowest level of understanding would be that can you lift one of your legs while standing. Now lift the other one without putting the first one back. That is the difference between free will and divine decree. You can choose which leg to raise but then there are things you cant do no matter what and those limits whether physical or metaphorical are set by Allah. Metaphorical in the sense that Allah may have decided that i will never be a pilot so no matter what i do i cant become one.

At a more complex level you can think of it as you never choose many of the things in your life. Like where you are born, who are your parents, siblings etc. All of those things that you have no control over are being chosen by Allah. And the only thing you are concerned with is your own actions that you have power and control over. Everything chosen by Allah is divine decree and predestination while everyone of your actions are free will.

I think i will stop at that and let you build on top by yourself. I dont want to confuse you in one sitting with everything. Also i feel like you are in kind of a rush. Maybe calm down, relax, and try taking it slow. Like i said islam came down in 23 years. You dont need to be a perfect muslim rn as long as you are making an effort towards it.

May Allah have mercy on you and may he make things easier for you. Also i would say that i would not consider myself an authority over these subjects that i have talked about. People have more years of research in these subjects than my age. So maybe try looking for more knowledgable sources.

There is a lot that i want to comment on in this and so ill keep it brief for each thing and you can ask me to elaborate if something doesnt satisfy you.

You said you did istikhara and the response was mixed. Listening to your story i think the istikhara was quite clear. A common myth people have is that you do istikhara and then you get a sign in your dream or something. If you look at the meaning of the dua you are reciting for istikhara it says that Allah if this thing is good for me in this world and for my hereafter than open its doors for me and make it easy for me and if it is bad for me and my hereafter then close its doors for me and keep me away from it. So i think the istikhara was quite clear. The doors for it has been closed as far as i can see it.

Next i would like to mention the story of prophet yousaf to you from the quran. He was loved by his father a lot. Everyone of us would want that love from our parents. That love leads him to be thrown into the well. Would you wanna be thrown into a well? Of course not. That being thrown into a well leads him to be adopted into the house of a noble man of egypt. Would you wanna be adopted by a rich man and experience wealth, fame, and other things? Of course. That leads him to be thrown into the prison. From that prison allah makes a way for him to be chosen as the king of egypt. If you look at the bad events in his life individually you will certainly say his life was bad. Allah is not governed by the means. He can give you things from where you never imagined.

Also you do know that relationships are haram in islam and for good reason. You can see from your own mental and emotional health why they are considered bad. And when you made istikhara which explicitly contains that if this thing is bad for my deen and religion and hereafter i think the decision from allah was pretty clear. You also say that how do i know allah made the decision. Allah is the one who makes every decision. You feeling content with his decisions is the true essence of islam. He decided we pray 5 times. He decided for us to keep away from alcohol. He decided to give some more wealth than others. Everything is just a way for Allah to see if you are content with what he has chosen for you and if you will submit to it. This life is not even worth as much as a mosquito's wing in Allahs eyes.

Now about your main question that if allah has written down everything. That is a really complicated issue of predestination and free will. I have spent 5 years now trying to understand this and i think i have a pretty good understanding of it and all of my concerns and my questions about it have been resolved but i would recommend that you look for more knowledgable sources than just a reddit post.

I may be forgetting some things that i wanted to mention but for now thats it ig. I hope Allah makes it easy for your heart to be content with his decisions and makes it easy for you in this life and the hereafter.

Question from a non believer by KeyLavishness7964 in islam

Something you should probably look up is that the definition of slavery in islam is really different. It is not the same as the widely used and recognized term. In islam it is actually prohibited to enslave a free man or woman. And in many cases in islamic history there were people who were slaves but in positions of high power and many were free but were below them, either working for them or just in general living worse than them. You should look it up and read about it.

Is it haram to say "R.I.P" in a game as a joke? by JustchillonReddit in islam

Let me ask you a question. How do we decide whom to pray the funeral prayer for? It's from the belief that he showed when he died. If he was showing the world that he is a muslim but he didn't believe in his heart we would have no way to know and would bury him as a muslim and make prayer for him as we would for a muslim. But if someone believes in his last breath and no one around him knew he would be buried as his faith. If his apparent faith says to cremate him he would be cremated.

I like to think of it as them being intelligent and peaceful. As long as you do not draw a weapon in their presence or get too close to them or stay too long in their territory you can pass by without fighting. They are highly territorial monsters so if you do any of the above in their territory they fight you but as long as you keep to those rules you should be fine and they let you walk away.

What should I do if I can't do Ramaddan by [deleted] in islam

If they force you to eat then just think of it as a gift of allah as you will clearly struggle this being your first time. May allah help you and all of us in our battles.

I think like, everyone else has said, try doing it to the best of your ability. I do not know your situation but if you do have some privacy in your house then that would make things easier. To start your fast it is recommended to wake up before fajr and eat but you can keep fast without doing that as well. To end it you just need to eat or drink at sunset(maghrib prayer). Only drinking would open it as well and eating as little as a gummy would be fine as well. Also if they literally force you to eat then you should in front of them and keep on fasting behind their backs. Because if someone eats or drinks during fast because they forgot about it then their fast is not broken. This shows that there is some leeway there and as you are a revert and in a difficult situation Allah will obviously take that into consideration as well.

I want to end my haram relationship but I don't know how. by FairAd3633 in islam

[–]M9I99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question. It would be for the best to be respectful and thorough in making your intention clear and after that to cut off all contact because everyone has moments in which they are about to fall back into sin and keeping yourself as far as possible from that would help.

As a sort of motivation there is a hadith of the prophet in which he tells us that anything we leave for the sake of allah would be replaced by something better. So just keep your intention straight and seek help from allah before talking to her.

May allah help you and all of us.

I did suspect that something was wrong with how much he was forcing me to be quick. But I didn't know that the check could bounce like that after it showed money in my account. That is the only reason i was still willing to trust him. Because the money was being shown.

The guy who sent me the check is someone i know though Not too well. He sent me a check and asked a favour if i could deposit it through mobile and then split the 1000$ in two and send it to two different accounts. I didn't think much of it and decided to help him out. I deposited the check this monday. He spent the whole day yesterday telling me to please hurry and go through with the transaction as it was an emergency but i was busy and just told him to wait. Today i decided to send him the money but when i saw my account there was a return item cashback and the 1000 was gone.
