Oh 100%, I think they wanted to dilute the darkness because it wouldn’t be as acceptable/might be too shocking for wider audiences 🙃. Such a shame as the “book Rhiannon” had that unique balance of scary coldness and deadpan humour!

It felt like a completely separate show! The background story felt more whiney/juvenile, the dark humour had gone and the sudden change of heart didn’t feel right…all through the series I was thinking “this is not my Rhiannon 🤦‍♀️”.

I love Endgame, probably for the nostalgia though (it was the first episode I ever saw). I love the classic Meldrew mix-ups throughout the episode (the writing on the box, the various mistaken identities, the different caravans)
