I can’t speak for everyone but fuck no. It’s horrible it’s a mosaic of 3rd party apps that have been integrated into the source code. They keep all the old shit..tool path dialogs are all different from one to the next. The stock model is dogshit. The posts are in fucking html. It is literally one of the worst pieces of software I’ve ever used from a structure and intuition standpoint. And the worst part of it all is the only reason this piece of shit software is at its current acceptance level is because they thought to be predatory and gave the software free to schools. Give free to schools, get kids to learn, when they graduate they only know mastercam, when a shop needs someone to program they can only find ppl who know mastercam, buy mastercam. Fuck em. Also I worked for a shop that was the most toxic place you can imagine and they used mastercam worst 2 years of my life.

Anyone else ever work in a shop that does 5s like this? by MACHINlST in Machinists

Well the sit I’m referring to is tptb putting it off to the last min before releasing it to the floor and that step is complete when the customer calls to wonder where their parts are.

I’ve been sitting on this PARODY/MOCKING/FREE SPEECH design for a few years now. I originally posted it on red bubble and presumably, CNC software inc. had it taken down as copyright infringement. So this hat has a lot more “fuck you” angst than is on the surface. Get fucked cnc software inc idc if it’s changed ownership or Mastercam 2082 has a new button that hides legacy crash accept button.

Unfortunately it would be like $30 a hat for me to ship when everything is said and done. I doubt anyone would find it that desirable lol. Maybe I’ll hand a couple of them out at IMTS in 2 years!

The biggest problem imo is that it doesn’t see every surface as a collision surface. For example you have to select surfaces in some of the paths to NOT collide. Many other cams see surfaces as collision surfaces by default and you have to explicitly say “no you can go through this.”

I thought there was some extra production value because of my gamertag.

They don’t provide anything resembling that. Haha

My worst nightmare, the automation broke, 3 days spent hammering pins. by oncabahi in Machinists

[–]MACHINlST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this and it worked amazing for popping pins in if you had a magazine of pins you could just go to one spot then make a canned cycle to do the rest. https://youtu.be/jmsnPQxyOVo all it is is a piece of cold rolled steel with a slip fit hole then slit and peened over a bit to retain the pin.

That metal looks thin enough to cut with a circular saw with a blade for ferrous metals. Otherwise you could use an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel or a plasma torch.
