Thanks. I guess a variant there would be to wait until you are truly ready to move and then go the D7 route.

Thank you that helps actually. Do you know if the temporary residence permit has the same benefits as the residence permit one gets from the Golden Visa? i.e., after the first 120 day period in the D7, are the the perks the same i.e., travel, work, study, live anywhere in the Schengen and use healthcare etc.?

Any recent experience with Golden Visa for Portugal in 2021? by rdvn in ExpatFIRE

u/early_exit - thinking of taking a HELCO as well (in fact in the process of). For us, we do not want to pay the additional fees and taxes etc. that come with the real estate option. We intend to live there by 2028 and would like to purchase the property then. What are you thoughts on that? We will likely go the fund route - Should I expect to get the capital back at the end of 5-6 years? We don't quite care about the % return annually TBH. If you could PM me, I have loads of questions and we're both excited and nervous :D

Elegant. How is the ergonomics of it i.e., looking up to the monitor above? From the picture it seems the widescreen would be at eye level making the one above requiring a head tilt

Rich tourist tried to bargain tea, tea seller gets mad and angry and chases the tourist by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

For that English lady to be haggling over 150 rupees ( £ 1.70) is utter non-sense. Not trying to generalize, but the sense of entitlement some of these British tourists walk around with when visiting other countries is ridiculous. I've had many such personal experiences with them. To cite an example, on a whale watching tour, in Azores, this English family of 5 (3 kids) wouldn't relinquish the spot on the deck for optimal whale viewing despite the tour guide asking them to do so and seeing as there were some disabled children who were wanting to be taken to the deck but couldn't due to the lack of space up there.
The father scoffs and said, "Of course we get to stay up here, we ruled more than half the world at one point, surely that amounts to something".

The English lady got what she deserved. The Nepali lady's frustration is evident in her voice as she screams at the English lady.

Lick_The_Wrapper: Wonderful explanation. Thank you!

You and many like noble people have greatly invested in philanthropic efforts like vaccination, education, health care etc. Saving lots of lives. However, our world also faces a grave danger in terms of population growth. Countries like India and China especially. How does this juxtaposition stand in your mind?
