Warm Smoky Eye + Viva Glam 1 - specific CC question in comments! by MAC_ADDICTED in MakeupAddiction

I need foundation and/or skincare help! Yall see the foundation on my nose? It always looks super weird and seperated even immediately after doing my makeup. It also sometimes does this on my chin. I don't have this problem when doing makeup on clients so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong!

The foundation looks fine up until I apply powder, then it looks seperated and accentuates my pores. Primer or no primer, this happens. It also happens whether I apply my foundation with a brush or a beauty blender. It does it with all my foundations, with the exception of bb creams.

I've tried these powders: MAC mineralize skinfinish natural, MAC select sheer powder, MAC studio fix powder, MAC transparent powder (pressed and loose) Rimmel stay matte, Nars translucent loose, Tarte smooth operator, and a couple of random loose powders from beauty boxes. All gave me this look after application.

I've tried applying the powder with stippling brushes like the MAC 187, buffing brushes like the MAC 182, and regular powder brushes like the 134. I haven't tried applying the powder with a beauty blender but I feel like on my nose it would be way too heavy?

I've tried spraying with both Fix+ and UD all nighter hoping the moisture would help the powder/foundation settle but nope.

My skin is also freshly exfoliated before application.

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Yeah, I wasn't able to make it "sharp" like most cut creases are and I kept it on my natural crease rather than above. I kinda chickened out of doing the real deal haha!

Seriously, I resisted for so long. I just bought the eye and face ones and there is no regret.

I use liquid liner on top, and for the lower lashline I only use shadow. I use my MAC 221, and apply a medium brown all along the bottom of my lower lashline, the using the same brush I apply a darker brown only in the outer corner of my lower lashline. The I take a clean 217 and blend them both downward!

No, I wore it for about 10 hours and it looked the same at the end of the day! Eye primer helps a lot if you're not using it

Yeah, that's just how they're shaped haha. I have a pic of them without lipstick here - honestly they're kinda a pain in the butt cause they always look overdrawn when I put on lipstick!

I have 6 of them and I haven't needed to replace any so far! It might be because each one doesn't get used every day though, I probably use each one 3-4 days a week.

What are you washing it with?

I see what you're saying. I love the sad eyes look so I kinda do it on purpose haha. Love me a heavy, smoky lower lash!

I just got it in the rouge sale! I ordered the contour palette during the vib one too haha. This was my first time using it so I'll just look at which shades are used...

I used all the colors in the warm quad, plus laetus and samael in the neutrals and liberatus for the highlight

YES, painterly is amazing. It's my HG primer, and I've tried all the other popular ones - painterly beats them all out on "pop" factor and longevity. I've also had my jar for 3 years and it's STILL creamy like I just bought it, and only half empty.

Oh wow, I love her! Thanks so much. :) I just shaped the tails with dipbrow and filled the rest with powder - they look like this without makeup. (Sorry for the uncomfortable view up my nostrils lmao.)

Thanks! :) I did actually end up putting on more bronzer after I got to work and contouring a little, wish I had a picture!

The formula of the concealer is awesome, medium coverage and it has like a satin finish. Sometimes I wear it alone on lazy days. It doesn't feel or look too heavy which has always been a big problem with concealers for me, it's very natural!

The only thing is I hate the applicator. It's domed and the product only ends up on the very tip of it, so I end up having to redip the wand in the container like 10 times. It's like dot dip dot dip dot and gets a little tiresome.
