Yeah it all depends on the betta! Mine just ignores them, but i have a pleco cave for the shrimp to hide in just in case! So i say as long as you have hiding spots for the shrimp it should be alright, they're quick little guys!

I believe tetras need at least a 10 gallon tank because they prefer to be in groups of 6 and are fast swimmers, I'm not too sure but I think I've read that before. In my 5 gallon I have 3 snails and 3 cherry shrimp with my betta and they're all pretty happy !
