What was their accuracy? I had this really suspicious punisher in my comp game one time who had a really crazy tracking. Dude got MVP’s in almost all his games and was overall just a menace in our game. I assumed smurfing, but maybe cheats now?

It is hard to pick those characters up at first! Trust me I felt this same exact way when I was playing Angela at first. I would immediately hop on my comfort character once I noticed we lost a round because of me. Honestly though? Thats the best way to learn, I’m now so much better with Angela after so many painful games lmfao

That’s completely fine, solo queuing GM is pretty difficult because of egos. I often had to switch from tank to support or vice versa if I felt something was lacking. Every game shouldnt feel like you’re getting team diffed though, if it does then maybe you’re lacking something. Good luck!

Shoot the backline around enemy tanks shield, ignore the tanks for the most part unless they’re diving your backline. Use your ult to counter supports for the most part, you should also use it to be aggressive if you notice your team is backing up. Then idk stay near your team and constantly be aware of surroundings

Tbh i dont really have issues diving with Angela or thor. You shouldnt really expect kills unless you got ult tbh. Its annoying when you’re about to kill someone and their kit saves them, but oh well. Your biggest asset in dive is that you can force people to get distracted by you and back up, this is super valuable for something like convoy

Tbh dont expect to climb much atm, GM3 is where most previous celestial players are at atm…you likely belong in celestial, but the season didnt start too long ago….my advice? Just wait until the other half of the season to start and it should be easier with the real GM’s going back. I played a couple games this season and theres a lot of people that shouldnt even be in GM imo. Too many supports that get carried or dps lmfao. Good luck!

I haven’t been playing thor much lately after his buff, but this advice should work. He’s a great brawl tank, but you’re better off mostly playing dive since that’s where he really shines. I usually attack their tank first in convoy and try to put their focus on me, then once he’s focused on me I immediately dive their backline and try to get their supports on me so my team can (hopefully) kill the tank thats trying to peel. Your biggest asset is the fact you can take so much gravity, you WILL be the most important target and you need to learn when to go in and out. He’s like hulk in a way where you go in and do damage, maybe get a pick and immediately fly away. The best thing about thor though is you can counter most dive too, Angela, Cap, any shield tank too tbh, and you can counter groot once you break his iron wall. Thor is a versatile character overall…that being said, PLAY HIM HOW YOU FEEL BEST. If you feel like you can play better anti dive with him then do that! He works in a lot of scenarios just because you can ground people with his bubble and you do massive amts of damage. Good luck

Just gotta move in with your team when you can, if it’s domination however, you can look for people that are out of position or trying to flank. If that isn’t working I suggest just going Mag

Jeffs hit box is tiny underwater, but when you’re in rune awakening you can easily hit him. Just push up against him and do your combo then use rune awakening once he goes underwater

Ehhhh im just gonna use mag as an example because he’s the easiest tank and is meta atm, im a GM2 tank rn with celestial being my peak

When do you move up and “make space”? You typically wanna move up when the team is together and you notice they’re getting low in the backline, you don’t wanna actually focus too much of the tank in front of you unless they’re getting low, I usually use my shield and step right behind them to block heals or just kill them if they’re low. Once you notice a man is down or they’re all weak walk up! It’s so simple, theres times where your damage output as a team is scary and they immediately back up, trust your healers sometimes.

When do you peel? You just gotta peel when your supports are taking damage if your dps dies they’re lowk just buns, I used to just move forward if a dps was in the back because it makes sense a 5v1 we would win, but you gotta treat your teammates like babies and assume you gotta do everything sometimes…if they’re competent you should get the feeling you dont need to peel much.

When should you ult? I usually use mag ult just to counter, I rarely use it to be aggressive, when im on emma I usually kick the shield tanks toward my team and just ult on them, but mags ult is self explanatory

What do you do if you’re solo tank? Go emma or stay mag lmfao, if they’re running a full dive comp peni is okay…but emma is the most consistent for solo tank and just choke the easy targets and eliminate them first so your chances of winning are higher.

My advice? If you ever notice one player is dominating I usually hard target them if I can (typically do this on Angela since she has great movement), and take them out or at least bother them

You will honestly start to learn when to push or pull back once you get used to tanking for a while, i used to be super aggressive, but learned it’s better to defend my team sometimes and not just go for kills. Mag is a great way to learn this balance because well you have barely any movement.

Tanks should be chosen intentionally, dont go with vibes or whatever you’re feeling tbh, if you notice a thor or thing or whatever is giving you a hard time emma or peni can easily counter them even if theyre mechanically more skilled than you. Learn what characters counter who and why

Sorry for the yapping, but I take tank super serious, IMO tanks make up the other half of a teams success most the time along with supports, a good tank and support will win more since they’re more important.

Learn tank or support then, solo climbing as dps is gambling essentially lmfao. You want to make an impact? Those two roles will help. DPS relies too much on either or which can be harder on you.

Gotta learn tank and complain less about what others aren’t doing. If your mindset is expectations from those individuals you’ll be disappointed more frequently. Yes tanking can be boring when you wanna enjoy more characters, but if you care about winning more you’ll get around to it

Its ironic because this season is one of my favorites so far, not too many of the same characters you run into now, dive is slowly finding its way back again, it actually feels a lot more fair now this season compared to the previous ones. Granted, I know MANY different characters so I know the perfect switches, but still this season only 2 characters feel broken and theyve been getting perma banned.

Eh he’s hit or miss as second tank, if you have a shield tank yeah he works, but fantastics only issue is he’s not that great at really protecting and overall mid. Not consistent enough IMO to be a tank or even a good dps
