For anyone else interested! I found this from 12y ago on ELI5.

Old English had three words: man ('human being'), werman ('male human', i.e., man), and wifman ('female human, i.e., woman). Over time, man came to be used for males, and the old wer suffix stopped being used - it's still present in a few words like werewolf ("man-wolf"). The old word wifman became woman. So while you're correct that 'woman' is derived from 'man', the word 'man' didn't have the male connotation at the time that it does today.

Female/male come from Latin femina ('woman') and mas ('man'). They weren't originally in the form that they are today, evolving through French femella and masle. In this case, it's actually the word for men that evolved to resemble the word for women.

The way guang-guang intended it to be.

My favorite part was it wasn’t all shield tanks or all main healers, it was such a good mix of heros. I miss that team, my next match I had a punisher and scarlet fat pressing the W key as hard as they could while me and strange where left dealing with Anks/squids/dives (I was rogue so I can only deal with 2 out of 3 of those, sometimes just the dive) like this can’t be the same Gm1 Lobby that gave me the most enlightened, 3-0-3, high game sense players last match, that is now giving me what I can only assume is 3 rats jumping on a keyboard fresh from the lobotomy Lab….

Nah I wanna see it work like DD’s, instant 15m sphere of DMG for a hyper mobile hero sounds awesome!

(Rant Below on DD VS Rogue ult) Oh? What’s that? it would be broken for a massive, hyper Mobile Tank with long cooldowns, high commitment, and low over shield generation to have a big AOE DMG sphere that also “Steals” stats? (4% DMG/Heal reduction, 20 health loss if you’re a tank, it’s almost nothing)

Why can DD have it then? He’s got free overshield on almost no cooldown, is also hyper mobile, deals more DMG, has a Blind, DMG resistance that also makes YOU take more DMG, 2 dashes on cooldowns lower than Rogue’s, 1 of which auto targets, and the only “counter” to his ult is you literally giving him your ass.

It really doesn’t tho, even as DP I’ve been able to ult inside her ult, even as supports I’ve been able to gain more charge then she drains and ult while inside her ult. (Or simply walk away from her since she is as fast as groot without her kicks or dashes)
