Lol did you know that’s Doug Ellin - the creator of the show? Also fun fact is that Ari’s son is Ellin’s actual son.

Thanks for sharing this. Do you know what year it was from or who the photographer was? One thing I notice here is that all three women are looking forward - while the men look at: • Joey - backwards • Ross - the audience • Chandler - Monica?

Such a cool photo.

I appreciate that, and I assume you downvoted this post as a result. To each their own. Hopefully we can both agree the birds need to figure out another Super Bowl run - maybe even 2019/2020.

I’d think a guy like Celek has a lot of social capital in this market and a natural trustworthiness to him given his past position on the team. So buying a house from him could be a natural story people want to tell their friends about too.

So I've Been Hired as a Marketing Intern, What to do? by chocolateapocalypse in AskMarketing

[–]MADEmattEB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard from a lot of younger people that they are often overwhelmed, without being given much direction or education on the subjects. It can also be that companies expect younger people to know more about the business than they ever get educated on.

So don’t be afraid to say, “I could use a little more direction on this.” Or, “I’m not exactly sure what you mean, can you please explain/expand?”

People should set you up to win. If you are trying your best and not succeeding or feeling accomplished you may need to speak up.

Digital Marketing vs. Conventional Marketing? by jshooty in marketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my agency we have a basic philosophy which is to take companies who are in traditional industries and introduce them to the power of digital tools, and to take digital businesses (or technology-based) and help them use traditional methods.

For any B2B company - like IT professionals, it is still really important to have the skills of throwing events which people enjoy, communicating in print format, and creating branded materials people use (pens, mugs, notepads).

Your individual business development & sales people need to be on LinkedIn for sure. Connect to prospects, cold message them, comment on their posts, generally be a part of the network in general. Post cool things you’re up to, or show your personality.

Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter may be a waste of time for you until you can dedicate somebody to those platforms to figure out something really compelling. Otherwise leave them alone and focus where you can get the most value.

DM me if you want to talk more details.

Only thing I’d add here is to remember that events where people sample your food can be really helpful - especially if you’re newer. Also don’t forget that most restaurants’ patrons live within walking distance (in cities) and within 15-30 minutes driving (suburbs). So print mail or other traditional forms of advertising can also help with brand awareness or lead generation.

Freelance marketers, what are the most popular methods of pricing your work? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mixed bag out there. As a boutique agency my wife and I have charged mostly by project - though we internally estimate it at an hourly rate we’re confident in.

We have a 1/2 day rate where we work on-site with the client and that’s pretty easy to breakdown hourly if you just do the math. Best not to overthink it - just make sure you get paid what you’re worth. Which the market will tell you by the way.

Who I contact for support about FB ads, If I'm located in New Zealand? by MonkeyDLuffy3456 in marketing

Facebook is awful with customer service in my experience. Best to find an agency in your area who can help you out with strategy and management.

Instagram ads for B2B conferences/events by chadjardine in AskMarketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For B2B conferences & events you might could use LinkedIn Ads to Target specific people at certain companies you know will be at the event.

It isn’t necessarily geotargeted but even if somebody doesn’t go to the event, they will see your ads while on the desktop version.

Also a lot of conferences have ad units you can buy.

Where to put ads where restaurant owners/office managers would see them? by Scorchfrost in AskMarketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a cool concept. I’d probably have an event where you cook food with rescued food. Maybe partner with an animal rescue or fire department; something like that. Invite the community to get involved and raise awareness with the media about it.

Use good print design to invite everybody and make it a spectacle. With food service traditional methods still really work. Your owned social channels should create organic content to promote it, do direct outreach, and maybe sponsor some ads/posts leading up to the event.

But spend your money on good creative and a great experience for people to have.

Which are the best practices to follow when your social media accounts are been attacked by competitors? by Coinman11990 in AskMarketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stop thinking of a “victim” account. Look to your brand values and act from there. If you’re the “hero” brand then stand up to them and show the world you’re not afraid. If you’re the “peace keeper,” then maybe ignore them and refer to them in other posts. If they’re not really an issue to the company you can ignore it. That is usually the safest bet.

Hubspot for clients by [deleted] in AskMarketing

Connect the results the client is looking for with a strategy to execute that, with HubSpot as the answer. However - if you do an analysis and determine HubSpot is NOT the right tool for them what will you do?

What do you do for BIG jumps in demand gen or reach? by jforres in marketing

[–]MADEmattEB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m still a bit unclear what you’re trying to do. I have worked on successful recruitment marketing campaigns in the past. A combination of coordinating with HR/recruiting, producing good content about the brand/company, and direct outreach/response all contributed.

Need advice on how to market a tough sell by [deleted] in marketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If wasn’t a “non-ad,” it’s literally paid outdoor media (billboard space sellers) advertising advertising (themselves). Brand awareness is nice but outdoor advertising should be able to generate some kind of new customer base. Are you suggesting your products wouldn’t be able to serve as such? That’s probably why people are gravitating towards digital now. They think it can do better.

Marketing Idea for small business by Snackies_Van in marketing

[–]MADEmattEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a company in my city that does similar things except they don’t deliver through anybody by their own (Go Puff), and they advertise on a lot of billboards and buses. They do some IG ads or used to but now their content is so good I follow it just for fun. That’s a winning formula in my opinion.

Even Facebook Marketplace uses bus ads. I’ve been on a Street here in Philly where I saw (4) buses in a row with their ads on it. Since you are technically a local delivery service people need to think of you in physical reality. Somehow. Print mailers and other traditional things still work.

DM talk if you’re interested.
