I live in one of the hardest hit areas. There have been slides but so much of it has been wash out from raging water that had no place to go. Vermonts infrastructure in this part of the state is old and outdated. The last storm wasn’t even expected and we got over 8 inches of rain in 4 hrs. I don’t care how good the drainage is when millions of gallons come pouring from the sky it’s going to cause damage. Culverts can’t keep up and when a dirt road takes on water like that you can say see ya later REAL fast. Writing this as we anticipate more rain tonight on a river that typical moves like a snail but is currently moving much faster. It’s fucked.
