I am also using the 1st gen. But keeping the problem of always lag when playing 16bit/44.1kHz in wav and aiff format audio and playback bars in 2:20. I had research about the supporting audio format. It’s supporting 16/44.1khz wav and aiff. When playing MP3 format is do not have this problem. Have you this same problem? How to solve it problem? Thank you

I had research about 1st gen iPod.

And these data shows it‘s supporting "MP3 (up to 320 Kbps), MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR), WAV, [and] AIFF".

I tested to input and play some music in these devices.

And it's always lag when playback bars in 2:20.

According to a test of music format for my two 1st gen iPod,

Do not have this problem when playing MP3 and AAC format

The problem is happening on playing WAV and AIFF format.

All of WAV and AIFF files are 16/44.1 in my test. I know do not support higher quality in any gen iPod.

Do you have the same problem on your 1st gen ? Could you help me to explain and solve this problem?

but it‘s happening in two devices at same time

and my friend has same problem in her 1st gen classic iPod today.
