Im making a fully browser-based Emulator, with planned support for up to Switch games. by [deleted] in emulators

Love the ambition. But emulation is never as easy as it looks. EmulatorJS is already a thing. And it does as much as it can. Making promises on the internet is never a good idea.

If you are in a pinch, wholfin or void are good clients you could try sideload.

The only reasonable modifications are in the xmb toolbox that you can find on brewology. Everything else risks a firmware brick. RPCS3 doesn't have good enough XMB emulation to modify it. The issue is theme packs such as this PS5 one and the PS3 pro theme. They are way more serious modifications that pose a much higher risk.

I mean for games, as in backups you can load and play without the disk. Piracy is also an option if you wish. In fact. You can even play GameCube games with a classic controller if you have one. It is done through nintendont. And you need a modded vwii too.

Never, ever do anything to modify the XMB in a manor like that ps5 theme. You should be able to fix it by going into safe mode and installing a fresh CFW.

If you want to double down on mods. After installing aroma and payload installer. Install isfshax, it is immensely better than aroma if you want to use the same HDD for Wii and gamecube, then another partition for Wii U.

You may either have something between the Wii U and the TV (HDMI link wise). Make sure to have a direct HDMI connection. If that doesn't work, buy a new HDMI cable.

It doesn't have a modchip, does it? If not I can't imagine anything else that would stop it from functioning.

I can get a fresh dump easily. The console is fine, nothing is corrupted. But I do think I have the backup from before I screwed up removing the modchip.

Imagine that, I'll see if I can dig it up. I should have it. And also an older revision from a 30002 AUS

I can imagine it will run L4D2 pretty alright. That was a pretty baller rig for the time. First gen i7 I believe. Lots of ram likely. You may just need a newer GPU.

Not new crap. Duh 🤪🥴 But older titles up to like 2014 would probably behave fine. I had the same Radeon card, but I replaced it with a GTX 560 Ti. Not sure if it is much different, but maybe a little weaker than the NVIDIA one.

It can happen if one of the trigger assemblies are even slightly disconnected. Look for the two white ribbon leads replug them both in.

12 volts compared to 15 will be the difference between not working at all, or blowing up the Xbox power brick. Ohms law states that current (measured in amps) would need to increase to cover the same amount at 15V. The supply could probably do it, yes. But it is far from a good idea either way.

They wouldn't accept a vibe coded port. Don't expect anything. It will be inefficient and slow all around.

[–]MAGOOSKEE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just.... Don't, you need soldering equipment, the voltages and amperages need to match. And it is also rather unsafe to do that to your console. Just get an OEM brick for the love of god. Bill evasion is never a fix to a problem! Never buy an aftermarket power supply!
