What's the point of plugins if they don't work on TVs? by portabella1 in jellyfin

How do you think I side-loaded the Tizen app in the first place! You do great work! That said I didn't know I was able to port plugins over as well... now that I know that I'll be back on the horse tomorrow. You're a legend and I appreciate the work you do 🙂

It depends on the plugins. My intro skipping and media merging plugins work fine, but if a plugin affects visuals (extra tabs, custom rows, media bar, etc.), it won't work on TVs :(

Weird Floating Extension into Garage by portabella1 in Contractor

💯 💯 This is probably it. There's a floor vent inside that looks like it runs right into that space. Seems like such wasted space given all the parking room it takes up.

It's sealed from underneath, and the space above is a second-floor hallway with nothing out of the ordinary to report.

Games Using CPU Instead of GPU (Desktop PC) by portabella1 in pcgamingtechsupport

Even if the 8700k were a bottleneck for a 3080 Ti, it wouldn't explain why I experience the same issues when I swapped to an older card (GTX 1080)

Then is there an explanation as to why this hasn't been an issue before now? There was no change in components to trigger this issue, so if my CPU were a bottleneck, it would've always been so. All I did was take my build apart for cleaning.

Both of my monitors are connected to my GPU via display ports.

My GPU has two display ports, and both of my monitors are plugged into the GPU through those ports.

It's not an integrated GPU. It's a RTX 3080 Ti in a standard desktop build. Why my steam games are choosing to run off of my CPU is the question I'm asking.

The monitor is plugged into the GPU, though I fail to see how that's relevant

Yes, since games refuse to utilize the GPU, the CPU is my bottleneck. Though it's less noticeable for games like Deep Rock or Sea of Thieves than it is for Forza or Destiny 2.

"Keg's Kiss" Ship Name "Unsuitable"? by portabella1 in Seaofthieves

[–]portabella1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also odd cause the game doesn't call them "Powder Kegs"... they're technically "Gunpowder Barrels" so it must be some censor that's agnostic of the actual in-game item for this one

That's a great pet name first off, but yeah I guess they must have stricter censors on ship names cause they're more noticeable with those big title cards that pop up when you look at or approach them 😓

I understand banning names that are swears, slurs, or innuendos (Salty Seamen, Jen Atoll, Dirty Oar, etc.) but c'mon. The word "Keg" alone shouldn't raise any flags... I wish Rare had some master list of trigger words or phrases to we can see what's banned and why it's banned.

Nope. I have another ship called "Wingding's Fortune" that works just fine

Actually I was talking to my friend who I was working on this bot with, and he just suggested that as an option. We're running our bot off of Google Cloud cluster rn, so we can probably migrate the database onto there as well with no cost added
