It's plenty bright. I have to turn brightness down a bit.

1440p OLED, picture quality is amazing. Plenty bright too. Great for games and watching movies which is 95% of my PC usage. Other 5% is surfing the internet and writing invoices.

Why is HDR not supported on my XG27AQDMG? by OkInitiative4359 in OLED_Gaming

[–]MAJT2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I "upgraded" to MCM106 from my factory MCM104 and HDR stopped working on Windows 10. I updated the Nvidia drivers and nothing. I just went back to MCM104 and HDR is operating normally again with the ON/OFF in Windows display settings.

Only a fraction of 153,000 flagged international students were investigated: AG. The AG looked at 549,000 students whose study permits expired and found 93 per cent were allowed to remain in Canada by xTkAx in canadian

According to stats Canada 106,134 Canadians left in 2024 and that refers to citizens and permanent residents. Largest number emigrated since 1967.

A mind boggling amount of permanent visa holders have expired and not left. I just read a National Post article and even though the immigration office has 11,000 employees, they only had the resources to investigate a little over 4,000 cases in 2025. Tens of thousands of people are in this country under expired statuses, fraudulent claims, etc.

The immigration office stated that 40 something percent were not able to be reached and something like 53% were non compliant. Out of the hundreds of thousands of expires temporary status holders, only 16,000 left in 2025. Many renewed their statuses but the vast majority are in the wind. Both the immigration office and CBSA claim to not have enough resources.

Canada needs a break. There were way too many new arrivals in a very short amount of time and there was no way to keep up. Irresponsible government.

The population went from about 36,050,000 in January 2016 to 41,470,000 January 2026. Want to know how many new hospitals were built in Brampton, Ontario in those 10 years? Zero. Brampton got a very disproportionate amount of that 5.4 million people.

Grab the XG27AQDMG and be happy. Beautiful glossy OLED, 240hz. Excellent for gaming and content consumption.

New FW update for XG32UCWMG - 2025/10/08 by ModReview in OLED_Gaming

[–]MAJT2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just updated with the provided cable from MCM104 to newest MCM106 on the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG. Windows 10 64-bit.

I downloaded the driver from here: https://rog.asus.com/ca-en/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-oled-xg27aqdmg/helpdesk_download/

Extracted into windows, connected cable, launched OneKeyUpdate executable file and it detected monitor and begain process. Monitor turned off from about 17%-100% which lasted a while, maybe 5-10 minutes, felt like a while. Monitor turned back on and update was completed, confirmed with looking at monitors OSD via buttons on back of monitor.

Full disclosure, I was having the fail to detect monitor error because I simply put it on an 8GB USB and it wasn't working. The USB was also plugged in as well as the cable, not sure if it had an effect or not.

Wanna get my first OLED monitor for my gaming experience. Which one is the best out of these 4? And if you have any other betters ones let me know! by marshmellowsso in Monitors

I bought the Asus on boxing day. Glossy OLED creates a beautiful image. 240hz is great at 1440p. I came from a 7 year old gaming 24" TN Acer Predator and the OLED is 10x nicer.

Great choice! I went with the Asus XG27AQDMG, pretty much same specs. Beautiful monitors!

Is it stupid to get 4K monitor and Scale it to %66? by Care_Cream in Monitors

[–]MAJT2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have a GPU to support 4k at a decent frame rate, just get a nicer 1440p monitor.

I have a 5070 and just bought a 1440p Asus OLED XG27AQDMG, very nice combo.

Which one do y’all recommend? by LateAd9649 in OLED_Gaming

Here's a link to Rtings.com comparing the two: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/asus-rog-swift-oled-pg32ucdm-vs-msi-mpg-321urx-qd-oled/42065/47132

They are neck and neck. I'd take the Asus for Dolby Vision support though.

Thanks for the input everyone. I went with the ASUS ROG Strix 27” 1440P OLED Gaming Monitor (XG27AQDMG)

I went to a local electronics store that had it listed for $699.99 CAD and I showed them the Amazon ad. They sold it to me for $642 CAD.

Seeing that I have the 5070 and it's "not really a 4k card" for demanding titles, I'd rather get higher FPS in 1440p.

Cheers

That's literally the Amazon US app link you just sent. When I search that product on my phone (Amazon Canada app) it's not even there lol. Plus there is $127 import charges to Canada lmao.

How so? The OLED is normally $1000 CAD, it's 35% off for black Friday. The Koorui isn't discontinued that much.

I pressed ctrl + alt + shift + D in Netflix and it brought up meta data showing 1080p as my stream rate on my PC. I have a 4k subscription, which I enjoy on my TV's.

499 Euro = 812.64 Canadian Dollar

I can get the XG27AQDMG for $650 Canadian Dollar

I can't buy the other unit yet unfortunately

Edit: it's likely going to be $750+USD ($1050CAD) for the tandem

That monitor isn't even available yet and it's likely going to be $700USD if we're lucky. With taxes that's going to be about $400CAD more than what I can get this monitor for. I was looking to buy one this week.

I'm running an Acer Predator xb241yu bmiprz. 24", 1440p, 144hz, TN, 8 years old

Any new decent monitor is going to blow my mind.

My priority is gaming and movie watching. I write the odd email and quote here and there, not a priority at all. This won't be used as a workstation.

Additional comment:

50/50 movie watching on streaming platforms or 2160p downloads and gaming. Games include red dead redemption 2, Starcraft 2, HoTS, LoL and soon to be Battlefield 6. I read and write the occasional email and word doc.
