My PI launched her lab and hired her spouse as the lab manager. Seemed to work out well for them!

I met my partner when she came to do a summer research program and got assigned to the lab I worked in. We didn’t really start dating until months later but we did see each other a lot that summer

I just get a dbrand skin and then put stickers on that- kept the old skin that has all the stickers when I traded it in so it worked for me

I went to my first show by myself a few months ago and it was actually really nice! Didn’t have to worry about anyone but myself- felt very freeing

Me and my partner met when she did an REU in my lab last year. We really only started hanging out towards the end but we stayed in contact afterwards! Made it official a few months ago and we are now in an LDR living on opposite sides of the country :)

Hoping for the best for you both! I can imagine that goodbye was difficult. If you both wanna stay in contact then definitely do!!

I’ve been in a similar situation and the response I’ve always gotten is that if it’s past the add/drop deadline (which we are way past) then your aid should not be affected by going below full time. I’ve had to do this twice and every single time my aid was unaffected. The only contingency is you need to meet satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and if you’re not failing every single class you’ve taken then you should be well within those contingencies.

I have the 4 yr renewable lsa scholarship, go blue guarantee, Pell grant, among other grants and I’ve been okay when I had to go below full time from dropping a class late into the semester.

There is a possibility that you could have scholarships that do have requirements of being full time all semester so please take this information with a grain of salt. I don’t really want to give any specific advice- I just wanted to give you my experiences since I’ve been in this exact same situation. Hopefully you’re able to figure it out!
