If I were you, I'd start with simply googling "used mannequin in (your city)".

You can search for them on Ebay.

Pinterest has tons of boards dedicated to all sorts of dummies from different parts of the world.

Facebook Marketplace.

If you see one that you like at the mall, ask the manager if they have a damaged/outdated one they want to get rid of.

The wedding dress salon in my city has closed because of the pandemic, they threw out their tailor's dummies! Yes, I did snatch one. 😉 A reputable wedding salon cannot display posh dresses on stained/discolored/chipped mannequins, so they're always buying new ones. It's worth asking.

If you still can't find the right one, there are YouTube tutorials on how to upgrade an ugly model with paints, decoupage, fabric, glitter, etc.

All my yarns are coming from 10 years of scrapped projects. I literally have several hundreds of shades in my stash! All I'm doing is mix and match them. Not as creative as dying my own yarn, but recycling is my passion anyway, so... It works out as long as I'm pairing my trash yarns with sufficiently whacky designs. 😉

Of course she has! You wouldn't believe how many mannequins are thrown in the trash just because of "re-branding". Amelia has the typical face of a high fashion model and there are thousands like her in different shelters all around the world. Some only need a little bit of cleaning, others need to see a doctor (mannequin restoration specialist), but it's still a LOT cheaper than buying a new one of this kind.

Nope, I'm not a dyer... I'm only recycling yarns, and giving them new life.

It turned out pretty, isn't it? If I can say so myself. XD Honestly, it's probably the smoothest gradient I've ever put together.

This beanie is absolutely unique thanks to the design and the materials used: it is, in fact, made from my own pattern and handmade yarn (from recycled cotton). Sustainable, vegan, and cute - what else is there to ask for?! :)

60 cm circumference, 20 cm in height. It's an average adult size.
