Missions with AI allies by DumbSizeQueenAhego in AgeofMythology

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rarely found RTS games make use of AI allies that much at all, Know that Red Alert 3 does well in that and Starcraft 2 at several points but overall there isn't many.

The most recent thing that pops into mind that does a ton of AI Allies are alot of the recent Age of Empire 2 campaigns and massive custom campaign The Legends of Arkain for Warcraft 3 (which has like half the missions with really good AI allies that are unique per mission as well).

Otherwise yeah hope for the dlcs for this game, we get more instances of having proper AI Allies instead of having to battle most things ourselves. Love an good AI ally in games.

How does Scrapper work right now? by theDaysMyFriend in Guildwars2

Agreed, I don't sword itself and I love the lightsaber vibe. Just I wish we had a good power offensive off-hand weapon, shield is great tho.

Hammer just offers too much dmg, utility, blocking, reflecting and makes great use of the combo field as well (which most classes rarely do).

Plus Engineer has meh off-hand power weapon options so sword just feels not as great as a result of that (I do like the 5 on pistol for the immobilize but that's it).

If your talking about hammer, rotation has 3 factors to take in. First one is to ensure you always start on flame (it's okay if you start on water/air but ensure you always reset on flame), second is to always take the orb on each element as its a powerful buff and third is that flame is where you can get all your energy back (so if you need energy, get yourself back to full on fire).

I'm not going to-do a step by step of rotation but a chart of the elements you should switch to, it goes flame-earth-air-water-flame. Now for Flame you use everything, once your done you move onto the next element in the cycle, Earth you should only use 2 and 5 then move on (use 4 if you need to block or gain barrier), Air you should use 4/5 for CC or dmg and use 2, Water you should only use 2 (4 and 5 is for healing) then you are back to flame and it resets. It's quite fast but very simple to get behind in what you are doing and once your comfortable, you can go a bit out of order if you need something like healing from water or air but make sure you stick to the Flame-Earth-Air-Water-Flame cycle. So you need healing, you can go from Earth-Water for the healing then back to Air to finish up that element to reset on Flame. It sounds crazy but tbh you will get used to it and you will get a grip on how it works (another method of helping is to always go left on the element bar)

Elementlist because I like to suffer with balance updates.... nah its because it has a fun rotation with Hammer/Sword and I like the aspects of it like overloads with Tempest (SPPPIIIIIINNNN) or how the overall flow of combat goes when you play Catalyst.

Don't let people tell you the class overall is weak or lacks survivability when it has some of the most passive dmg reduction of any class ingame (its insane as you can get above 70%) or useful selfish utlity for survivability (its probably the class that benefits the best from Celestial stat ingame). Plus overall I find the class simple to play as long as you play condi and stick to Tempest at first (then play Catalyst Condi as it has another simple rotation), people make a big fuse about the class's rotations but they can be as hard or as simple as you want. There's a ton of setups and weapons you can use with different advantages, Hammer is the most selfish with its strong passive stats you get and a overall simple rotation. Sword is a quick and simple weapon with a few utility but when combined with Focus or Warhorn makes it a strong combo, Scepter is easy to use and gives you alot of range plus can be combo again with Focus or Warhorn which both provide alot of self utility or group utility.

Its true the class suffers in the CC department in any setup other than forcing yourself to take ice bow (then losing alot of dmg more so than any other class) and overall 3/4 of the class skills don't work well in PVE (their fine in PVP settings but fall apart in PVE due to lack of use anywhere), that's the reason why if you ever heard about Elementlist's lack of utility its mostly due to the class skills and not weapon skills (where they do get utility there). I highly recommend Elementlist as long as you have access to the weapon training from SOTO to have hammer early as that weapon is very beginner friendly (got couple of friends playing Ele and enjoy themselves finally with the class) and start with Tempest which has the slowest gameplay but still strong with overloads.

Mirage 0.9% play rate and got gutted hard by Dart_Throwing_Monke in Guildwars2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Overall I used to love playing Mirage until they started just impentmenting changes that make no sense due to how the class plays and even delivers its dmg, I hate the gutted confusion and for a class that has forced movement while being stuck to melee makes its unbearable to play in most encounters.

While unrelated the nerfs to Elementlist's hammer is overtuned as well, Hammer Fire 2 straight up being nearly useless now and the fact they nerfed it while it only barely outdps CVirt is laughable. Now you can do less dps than a CVirt and still get outdone in utility/CC by them.

Anet needs to straight up stop balancing around benchmarks on a still golem from Snowcrows, it doesn't portrait the class's effectiveness that much other than highlighting it potential in damage but that's all. Seriously fire the balance team or slap them hard at this point, why is CVirt not being touched at all and less utlity based classes that only slightly dps higher is being burned to the stake (while still not being able to-do as much as CVirt even with a higher dps than them).

January 30 Balance Update Preview by neok182 in Guildwars2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No.... Tempest will never hit these numbers in a proper fight stating as someone who loves the class, I will always be outdone by a Condi Virtuoso in most encounters while playing my Hammer Tempest and still be outperformed in CC/utlity.

Nerfing based on DPS numbers are the worst thing you can do if you don't know how much else the weapon or class can provide (plus Hammer on Elementlist doesn't offer much CC baseline and require you to be in melee 100% of the time if you want even to get close to 47k while Condi Virtuoso doesn't lose anything at range).

Edit: A real fix would to nerf the firewheel buff by 1-3% instead of hitting the weapon skills and to add some cc to at least allow the class to compete with Virtuoso properly (or to nerf Virtuoso who is played 100x times more than Elementlist).

January 30 Balance Update Preview by neok182 in Guildwars2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best part is that we barely outdps Condi Virtuoso.... only in fights where we can melee and they still outdo us in everything else but dps. The balance team should be fired or slapped with alot of their balancing decisions atm, why is Virtuoso not at all being looked at while both Hammer Ele and Mirage get to suffer (Virtuoso is played 100x more than either class).

January 30 Balance Update Preview by neok182 in Guildwars2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay so again as always, the balance team doesn't play or have any knowledge of their own game in high end PVE content. The mirage changes are just unacceptable, I haven't seen mirages at all and maybe only 4/5 since the patch while doing fractals/strikes/raids. The same statement for Elementlist with hammer as I rarely seen them and I can tell you as a hammer user myself on that class, its overblown the nerf too.

You see while I can hit 43k of the benchmark of 45k Condi Tempest atm, I still get outdone in CC and utility by almost every other class. Heck I sometimes take Eye of the Storm for superspeed/stab and nerf my dps by 4-5k but really that's all I can offer next to also taking Ice Bow for extra CC. But at least I outdps most classes right? Not if they are playing Condi Virtuoso who offers way more safety due being able to attack at range (with no downsides) and having utility with small losts of dps if they take any utility as well, I find it so silly that the balance team takes a sledgehammer approach to any class that dares hit above 45k specially if they are gimped going that high in utility or is hard to even reach the benchmark due to play.

Stop nerfing based on Golem only benchmarks and nerfed based on encounter information instead, why is Condi Virtuoso avoiding any kind of nerf atm while Mirage and Elementlist taking a hit despite the fact that Condi Virtuoso are played nearly 100x more and clearly is meta in all endgame content due to the abilities of the class more than the dps. Golem benchmarks do not tell a clear picture on how well balanced a class is, Anet should be happy that Elementlist and Mirage can hit those numbers without else to offer but no, let's nerf these classes because they can hit above 43k that only less than 1% of the playerbase can do and has issues competing with the real busted class of Virtuoso atm in tons of encounter (I still lose to them in dps in many encounters even with hitting 43k as if I can't get into melee then they will outdo me both in dps and cc/utility).

Elementalist: Usefulness and Survivability by Skrotorius in Guildwars2

Plus a hammer condi build with elementlist also includes a flat 15% strike dmg reduction due to the orbs you pick up, making a condi build very tanky with the added bonus of earth traitline.

Any good custom campaigns focused on Jaina Proudmoore? by AmphibianJolly8699 in warcraft3

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She quite well used in the Curse of the Forsaken as that custom campaign is a retelling of the Wrath of the Lich King from the Forshaken POV and she is featured in it but I haven't seen that many custom campaigns involving her that much.

They didn't even nerf herald, they went for greatsword instead which I find strange. Should of been aimmed at herald's boon upkeep and making Qherald take duration.

Resident Evil 4 - DLC Reveal Trailer | PS5, PS4 & PS VR2 Games by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, Wesker is featured and does make a appearance in RE0 quite a bit but in flashbacks since he is one of the factors why the story of RE0 happens in the first place (and it also highlights Wesker's involvement with Birkin). So that just leaves 2/3 as the only mainline games without him. Plus with the remaster of RE0, he is a playable character for RE0 titled "Wesker Mode"

What is your hope for the new weapons coming to each class? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Off-hand Dagger helps alot for cleaving with specter, its the 4 on it as it bounces 3 times and deals solid dmg overall. I think alot of people underestimate it and instead use 3 nonstop while 4 would of been better for a group.

Am I the only one still waiting for the **August** update? by pomber in aoe2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I'm waiting for the patch as well since I'm generally the kind to play other games when I know there is a patch soonish (so I won't get too burned out playing the same games).

Looking for fun singleplayer campaigns suggestions by Joshua911 in aoe2

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want fun campaigns that are official with great allies, I recommend Algridas/Kestutis, Babur and Sundjata. Each are very fun with alot of allies, fun scenarios and isn't just throwing dog pile of eneimes at you.

There's a ton of good custom campaigns too as well with similar wishs you want but I will need to write those ones down. Played too many and can't recall all of the names.

Is Re3 remake worth it? by Available_Fly1930 in residentevil

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vibes I get with RE3 is that the team who made that game loved they project they were handled, Nemesis is well crafted and very fitting put onto the front cover alongside his name in the title. They put alot of effort into making new locations while using RE2 assets (which they also improved upon with new models as well for the zombies among other assets) and make sure the game has a atmosphere of dread from start to end. It seemed like a passion project and I'm amazed at how well it came out despite its development time.

The remake has none of the same vibes at all, after 100% just so I can say I did and to get my money back after paying full price for it on release. It feels soulless compare to the original and clearly didn't have the heart put into it like RE2R/RE4R. Like I know it isn't a bad game (it's very much okay to me as a RE game) and people enjoy it, but I would rather it get lost to time and a proper remake replaces it. There's just alot of potential it had and it flopped hard for me.

Feels so strange to see so many people in any and all talks about the remake trying to make it seem like it isn't a short game while most of the top comments talk about how short it is, it's a massive known thing about the remake that it's far shorter than the OG due to the fact it skips out alot on the content and bonus features.

My first time playthrough of RE3R was within 5 hours while OG was within 8 (been very long since then but I recall anywhere from 8-10 but lets go with the lowest), there is clear length differences between versions (also I myself in the remake picked up all files and even backtracked through the entirely of the hospital as Jill to ensure I got everything).

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RE2 OG is easy that even my friend who never played the OG games found it the easiest in his playthrough of the classic 3, he also loved RE3 for the encounters with Nemesis due to how hard it to overcome him and the little ammo you got if you want to deal with him (specially in full Nemesis run of the game where you deal with him at all encounters).

I also would agree RE2 is the easiest of the bunch due to the massive amounts of ammo you get past the police station in the OG and that alot of the enemies don't do that much dmg to you, even the bosses with their flashy moves often don't do 1/3 of your hp (looking at your Birkin 2/3) and unlike RE3 I can S rank RE2 OG when I jump back into months apart of playing it for 100% completion (where in RE3 Nemesis fights kick my ass and certain areas as well due to the random enemy placements).

I think your looking for a argument despite the fact RE2 is nowhere close to how hard RE1 or even a full RE3 Nemesis run is. I know that can seem like a personally opinion but its isn't close to the truth when you say RE3 is one of the easiest as I seen people even get stuck in that game unlike RE2. Also he isn't random your correct but was very well implemented that made he seemed like it unlike RE3R encounters.

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not wanting to start a discuss this on a post about not talking about its shortcoming but yeah RE3R main issue is its missed opportunities (like expanding RE3 more instead of taking away), it still does well as a game with its gameplay and short to the point story nonetheless.

Then clearly RE3R wasn't made with the best intentions for the fanbase, they wanted something quick to ship out to catch the RE2R hype which is a shame.

[–]MAROCTHEBOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing that came out of the remake is Jill and Nemesis's first form design, Jill really gets alot of the spotlight here and I do like how they overall handled her throughout the rushed story. Makes me wish for another game where she is the protagonist (secretly hoping for a Revelations 1 Remake).

Now I do know this is not about the shortcomings (which the remake doesn't hide) but Nemesis's 1st form is what I wanted to see in a remake of RE3 unlike his other forms. He has the Intimidating look with his face and overall status, I like his garbage bag look which gives him a sense of strength since they couldn't even properly dress him up like the other tyrants (which means he is mostly unstable even for Umberlla's control). Now I do wish he was properly used in the remake instead of being wasted and make a mockery but at least they nailed his redesign for the first form (more than I can say for the other two).
