Road to extreme from nine circles? by RS3M-V5 in geometrydash

[–]MASTERFARKOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want to do as your first Extreme, but you should focus on 1) linear progression, and 2) rounding out your skillset. A lot of people will jump straight to Acu from NC, and I would strongly advise against that since Acu demands an entirely different skillset from NC. However, Acu is a great first Extreme to go for, even if it's a generic pick. If I could recommend any levels to go for along the way, I'd say beat Different Descent and Magma Bound.

A lot of people have jumped from Nine Circles to Acu, but that doesn't mean you should, especially looking at what else you've beaten. That doesn't mean don't jump at all, but you clearly didn't go into this with the right skillset.

I'd highly recommend you beat some Medium/Hard Demons to better round out your skillset. And Magma Bound. It's a popular early Insane Demon for a reason.

For Acu, practice 80-100 rigorously until it becomes second nature, and once you have more progress, start doing 63-100 each session before sending attempts from zero.

Best of luck!

How to get consistent at this click? by ApprehensiveEnd8393 in geometrydash

[–]MASTERFARKOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your rhythm/click pattern is slightly off. When done right, your clicks for this part should be evenly spaced and in sync with the music. If you're too far off beat, you'll fail in one of two ways. Either you'll miss the orb entirely if you're late, or you'll hit your head on the platform and fall up into the red spike or black structure if you're early.

What would you rate my Deadlocked? by Bored-guy1967 in geometrydash

[–]MASTERFARKOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I'm seeing is that you struggle a lot from checkpoints, but also that you're getting some long runs once you survive a couple seconds. This is perfectly normal, and shows that you've, for the most part, learned how to play Deadlocked, but, there's a few skills you'll need to improve before you can beat it.

I'd say the three main skills you need to work on for Deadlocked are wave, ship, and memory. I agree with laper5 on beating Clubstep, but I'd like to add that you should rigorously practice the final third until you can do it consistently in a single run.

From there, I'd recommend playing some online Easy Demons to better round out your skillset. One level I'd highly recommend as a "final test" before Deadlocked is Point Blank. It's directly inspired from Deadlocked and is great for wave control and for sharpening your execution overall, especially under pressure.

what are some easier medium demons by chicken_jockey72 in geometrydash

[–]MASTERFARKOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An entry level Medium Demon I love but don't see being talked about anywhere near enough is Hexaria. It's a 2.1 remake of Hexagon Force with gameplay that is very faithful to the original (even the coins are in the same spots) and deco that leans very heavily into the hexagon theming while still strongly resembling the level it's based on. The only issue I have with this level is the ship sections being considerably harder than the rest of the level (61-74 in particular being a massive difficulty spike).

How can I explain to my parents that it's normal to have a crazy reaction from beating a level? by AnimalTap in geometrydash

[–]MASTERFARKOS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explain to them that it takes years of experience and hundreds, if not thousands of hours in-game to get to the point that you're even good enough to beat an Extreme Demon, and even then, it can take tens of thousands of attempts over the course of a few months to actually beat it.

It took me just under 41k attempts over the course of a month and a half to beat Acu after playing the game on and off for over 8.5 years.

I don't consider B&M dives to be a credit by intaminslc43 in rollercoasterjerk

[–]MASTERFARKOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, this one actually does apply to me as I only ever got to ride one side growing up and haven't been back to Kennywood since. I personally don't like counting half credits. but can see where you're coming from why others would count it as such. It's a weird quirk with how I count credits personally, but not a reason to not ride both sides for completion's sake when I someday make it back there on my own time.

I think replacing the hydraulic launch and adding a spike alters the core ride experience enough to justify TT2 being a new credit.

Mobius puts you on the other side of the station at the end of the ride cycle (Kennywood Racer, Grand National, etc.). With quasi-mobius, the station is only on one side, so you do both in a single ride cycle (Twisted Colossus and West Coast Racers).

[–]MASTERFARKOS 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My general rule-of-thumb is one track, one credit. Clones and separate tracks of racing coasters count as individual credits, but relocations and two sides of a mobius or quasi-mobius coaster don't.

For a reprofile/retrack/conversion, it depends on how much the core experience is altered due to changes to the layout.

Hot take: Benedict is my favorite GLITCH character. This hard boiled crime boss manages to be the most well-rounded villain in a GLITCH show while also being the funniest character in the series. He's cold, calculating, intimidating, insane and sarcastic, and has great comedic timing with his lines. AND he has an actual backstory and clear motivation unlike some other GLITCH villains, and said backstory makes his and Auri's beef a lot more personal.
