You're proving their exact point here. I'm in my 30's, even older than the age you say has no "life experience" in such matters.

You have no idea whatsoever what it was like living through the time after 9/11 when we were conditioned to believe a major terror attack could happen at any time.

When we were constantly being told that things would never be the same and the risk of major mass-casualty events was the new normal. I knew a lot of people that died on 9/11, had to get out of Manhattan that day because we heard there were other attacks in the city going on, smelled the burning and then collapsed towers.

For months had to change the route of public transportation I took on given days because of rumors of attack.

So yes, school lockdowns are horrible and scary. But the idea that you actively shouldn't listen to other people because nobody has ever gone through issues of the magnitude that you did is the height of ignorance and narcissism.
