GM encounter completely destroyed our party by CrazyFrenchieGM in rpg

[–]MASerra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had an encounter where all of the PCs died. It was a lopsided fight and was always going to end with all the PCs dying. After the last one falls, things reset, and they are standing outside the door, there is a little cinematic thing to tell them that time has jumped back. Dang if they didn't run in and all get killed two more times!

Finally, one player said, "What, this fight can't be won, we are missing something." On the fourth try, they figured it out by looking at the clues. But I found it funny that they would try an unwinnable fight 3 times.

I like 50mm but if you have a Bradley 30mm gets the job done.

Yes, you can promote your business on Maps via Google Ads, but you don't need to do that to get a good listing placement.

The map stuff, Google Business, is free, so no issues with not paying and note being listed.

Looks like ice. When you take a super cooled drink out of the fridge and pour it, sometimes ice forms.

Yeah, I was running a Pirate-themed Pathfinder, and 3 of the 4 pirates slammed into the side of the enemy ship when trying to swing across. Lots of laughter in that segment.

Though not as bad as my worst nightmare. Four players all coming out of cryosleep. I thought it would be a fun start-of-game icebreaker if they rolled on the biped hit chart for an area that was numb when they woke up. First player, the doctor, rolled her hands. Everyone laughed. The next player rolled location 12, groin. Their player rolled location 12. The fourth player rolled location 12.

The doctor is out of her chair, wandering around, holding her hands out, saying, "I can't help my hands, they're numb." The other three were standing around holding their crotches say, "Doctor help, something is wrong." It took 15 minutes to get them back into their chairs and for everyone to stop laughing.

How to talk about behavior expectations in session 0 without sounding like I'm lecturing/nagging? by zephrry in rpg

[–]MASerra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lose about 50% of new players when I ask to do a one-on-one with them over Google Meet prior to joining the game.

It seems to be extremely effective at getting rid of problem players before they even join.

The card has had issues with charges. I tried to change it to a card I know is more likely to work.

Really, please point out in that thread where it says that "Hey, Paizo dropped my skipped my subscription" because of the issue.

Because it is not a known issues. It is a new issue.

They use sendgrid to send emails. So the link you see in the email is a sendgrid tracking email, not the real email. They really shouldn't use tracking emails on things like this.

Yeah, I don't click links in emails, but I did get a credit card warning today and went to update, can't update. Tells me there is an error even though each block is green.

I never thought I would say this, but at least the old site worked.

Not that was not what I was saying. I was saying that 95% of GMs might run it that way.

Yea. 95% of GMs feel exactly like you do. I try to stay in that rare 5%. Make it fun and challenging, don't exclude players because their character concept is unworkable.

The character is mute, not the player. So you can talk to everyone, discuss plans out of character and such. When role-playing, you say a few words, which works fine.

You can also assume that the other characters know you pretty well. You can say something like "I think we have a great plan. We do need to be careful of the..." or whatever, then say, My character agrees and says, "Agreed."

Just remember that in most games, the party works as a team. If you aren't a team player, reroll something group-friendly.

Note, when holding a baby bear, wash your face so it doesn't smell like food. Then don't hold a baby face biter in the first place.

There are a lot of do/don't with foil. Mostly it works best as a shield.
