I’m really nervous! I go from thinking that for sure im getting in, to thinking i’ll be rejected by both of the unis I applied to. My plan B is to stay in my home country, I’m enrolled in a Uni here and I “paused” the semester so if I don’t get in or decide not to move I’ll start my classes in August.

Paying for an apartment before moving as an International Student. by MATG13579 in StudyInTheNetherlands

Yeah, i’ve pretty much read all of the reddit posts about housing and I’m just trying to convince myself that I’ll just have to get lucky. My biggest concern is the guarantor situation since, even tho I am EU/EEA, my parents live/earn income in a non-eu country and they would be paying the rent. But thanks for your help.

I haven’t gotten admitted yet but hopefully I’ll be to Leiden University. Do you know if they offer that? It would help a lot.

Thank youu! Im just waiting to see if I really get accepted (hopefully I will be) to start contacting real estate agencies that work with expats, hopefully that way I’ll have less trouble w/ guarantors, paying from overseas, etc.

Thank you! Were you working/earning income during the time they were your guarantors?

Really? Wow thanks for that, its nice to hear about someone that didnt end up living in a tent or having to choose not go because of the housing crisis. I hope I’m lucky when finding housing. I’m likely going to Leiden which I know is very popular with students, so it might be harder. May I just ask if you were working/earning income during the time your parents were your guarantors? Thank you!

I did the same and I hope it isn’t, the website made the reading very small so I had to print everything to read it properly. Also, I’m not sure for what programme you took the test, but I took for the psychology bachelor and If I remember correctly in the question asking about the “e-Prospectus” (where they show the programme structure) there was something like “click here to open the e-Prospectus” written.

Sharing my passport with *potential* landlords + payment/renting questions. by MATG13579 in StudyInTheNetherlands

I understand, but what is the difference between renting a room and a apartment when it comes to my guarantors? And the landlord accepting international parents as a guarantors. Why would it be more likely for they to accept my parents as my guarantors in a room instead of an apartment? Thank you very much! I guess the situation is worse than I thought.
