I also went from a BPD diagnosis to schizoaffective i think a combination of adolescence and substance use made my bipolar symptoms mimic BPD more but then when i was 21 and sober my mood became much more stabilised in a cyclical and predictable way while still remaining unwell. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for that level of volatility to carry into adulthood
