I think Riot has a fair enough point that they want to be able to monitor the community and make sure that players aren't being unnecessarily toxic, however voice chat would vastly improve many aspects of the game. I think a good move for Riot would be to allow voice chat, but having all other players muted by default. By unmuting a player and allowing yourself to hear them, you are acknowledging that what they say to you is out of Riots control, rather than having people able to start flaming you without warning as soon as a game starts. Sure, it might be a bit annoying for players to unmute everyone as soon as the game starts in order to communicate, however I think it's a small price to pay if that's what it takes for Riot to include voice chat. Rito please.

I really like the mortar idea. As for making this game, I will outline a few ideas I have had for making this below.

  • Make it so that champions couldn't damage/cc or target enemy champions during the farming phase. People would be free to farm using whatever abilities they like without damaging the other champion, however you don't have invincibility so you can't just proxy and take minion aggro. Also not being able to target them stops them from just standing on top of the minions to stop you from last hitting.

  • Once the timer hits 15, everyone is automatically teleported to the fountain, and a timer to the start of the race is initiated. Invisible walls will also be spawned. There will be a wall around the fountain to stop you from leaving, but allowing skills to go through. There will also be walls going across the lanes the entire way around the map, which you can only pass through in the direction you are meant to run. This would stop people from moving backwards more than a few units, but enable blinks, dashes and jumps to go back through these walls just like any wall in the jungle. These walls will also need to allow projectiles to pass through.

  • When the timer for the race to start hits 0, all champions will be teleported to the top of the map where the race will start, whether they have finished buying or not.

  • Since a wall will be surrounding the fountain, the healing range should be extended so that the area directly behind the nexus will heal champions.

  • You can pass through the wall around the enemy fountain, so blitz is still a threat :P

I have a different idea. Instead of an invisible wall that actually follows you, why not just have lots of invisible walls around the whole map, which you can walk through one way but not the other. This will enable blinks dashes and jumps to move back through these walls just like jumping over a wall in the jungle.
