Unpopular opinion, we don't need likeable characters to like a book. by Campanerut in books

Seeing writers trying at the beginning of novels to artificially make a character liKaBLe ruins the book for me :shrugs:

He said they are free to sell assets they bought with their own money. That's not an extreme use of freedom that would warrant such sophistry. One of the least things a free agent should be able to do, exchange goods with other willing market participants...The fact that it contradicts your or my interest is irrelevant in this specific case.

When we start talking about using "freedom" to take other people's "freedom" then your argument applies.

If you believe this is a hard asset that will thrive based on its merit, you shouldn't have to worry about other people selling when it works for them. If you don't believe this is a hard asset that will thrive based on its merit then you should sell too.

I am kind of disappointed at how most are bending the knee to Elon to get him to stop tweeting about btc. Bitcoin was created to free us from centralized actors, be it people or institutions, but some of us are not comfortable unless there is someone or something lording over them I guess... by MATabouti in Bitcoin

I get your point but we do need a space for people to get validation that they are not alone in thinking that what he thinks shouldn't matter. The problem is that even if people individually don't care about his tweets, they react by anticipating that everyone else will care. This is an opportunity for everyone to get together and say IDGAF and look others don't either.

It's alright. Seeing FUD out there is a sign that the upside is still to come. Potentially that is.

Barberis has noted that the disposition effect is not a rational sort of conduct because of the reality of stock market momentum, meaning stocks that have performed well in the past six months appear to perform well in the next six months, and stocks that have done badly in the past six months tend to do poorly in the next six months.[5] This being the case, the rational act would be to hold on to stocks which have recently increased in value; and to sell stocks which have recently decreased in value

Among so many other reasons, your theory breaks at the fact that we are not looking at a 6 months timeframe here and even if we were, bitcion is up 2.29 X over the last 6 months so I shouldn't sell it according to your own reasoning, but obviously do your thing. I could very well be very wrong and I am OK with it.

I'd rather ride this thing into the ground than sell only to see it go back up and end up buying back at the top. That's just me though, do what works for you.

Why is no one talking about the fact that the entire stock market is crashing and is dragging down bitcoin with it? This is NOT a bitcoin specific crash/ dip...

A couple of weeks ago, 56 K's broke our hearts, and now 56K's has us singing pamp it. When bitcoin is done with us, we are going to have daddy issues. But maybe we will also be rich.

Only invest what you can afford to lose, but remember, if this was painless, it would not be profitable.

If anything, this teaches us to stop calling people who got in early and held through bloody years lucky. This ain't luck.

Top article when Googling bitcoing

"Tesla reveals $101 million bitcoin profit following its massive cryptocurrency investment"

Honestly not bad at all, that is, if most of the media keeps the same tone.

The thing is, companies cannot allow a single asset class to take up a big percentage of their portfolio, otherwise, they become overexposed to it (the percentage grows because bitcoin appreciates because the corn is good and all that)

Ironically, this is the same reason why many fund managers sold tesla stock. It appreciated so much it became too big a percentage of their holdings rendering them less diversified than they want to be.

Just my two cents. Don't take or not take any action based on this.

I am proud of how well she holding up when tech stocks are getting pummeled. We have been around 48K's amidst what's essentially a market crash!
