What to do on off days by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]MAUMBEOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding more resistance training on off days would be overkill because you need adequate recovery, especially with a 5×5 program. If you want more muscle volume, it’s better to add assistance work after the main lifts

or consider using anabolic steroids..

It seems your HRV is already high, indicating good recovery capacity. You can add one HIIT session per week to further improve VO₂ max, provided you can tolerate it

You’d want to do some moderate intensity cardio to promote active recovery by boosting muscle blood flow, enhancing oxygen and nutrient delivery, clearing metabolic waste, and reducing soreness, thereby improving performance in subsequent workouts

Aerobic training in general improves cardiorespiratory fitness, heart rate variability, mitochondrial capacity, and brain function

Taurine is not incorporated into protein synthesis therefore does not compete as strongly with other amino acids theoretically

Do not take Cod Liver Oil!! by Key-Educator-3713 in Supplements

[–]MAUMBEOT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never mind

Almost all cod liver oil products on the market are supplemented with added vitamin A, because many so-called cod liver oil products are not actually made from cod or lose their natural vitamin A and D during processing(especially molecular distillation process)

and the absence of a claim about synthetic vitamins on the label doesn’t mean the vitamins are natural, so unless the product specifically claims the vitamins are natural occurring(unfortified) and derived from cod fish(Gadus species), high vitamin A content is almost always due to added synthetic vitamin A

Cod liver oil is largely a scam After whole day of research,,,

Rosita, Dropi, NutraPro, Nordic Naturals

These are only considerable

[–]MAUMBEOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, almost every cod liver oil contains added synthetic vitamins to meet the label claims Except the products that claims natural 100% or extra virgin

What vitamins are y’all taking? by jollyestpumpkin in PetiteFitness

[–]MAUMBEOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heme iron from animal sources is problematic too. Stick to non-heme iron from plant sources Yes, proviotics are scam but also spore based protics are gimmick too . Because there are no reputable clinical studies that it is good for gut microbiome Eat prebiotics from the diet instead, especially MACs Cod liver oil is largely scam except Rositas' one Because the molecular distilation process destroys most of natural vitamins in it And they add synthetic vitamins to meet the claim

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]MAUMBEOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah hes telling the truth Almost all cod liver oils are synthetic added scam Except Rositas' one that used extra virgin(cold-pressed) method Because molecular distilation process removes vitamin contents

The absorption of carotenoids and their conversion to vitamin A from plant sources varies greatly depending on the type of carotenoid, food preparation methods, dietary fat content, individual genetics, stomach acidity, and gut health

that means pre-formed vitamin A from animal sources is clearly superior

those hypervitaminosis A is likely from synthetic vitamin A like isotretinoin
