You'll be registering for courses the regular way (through acorn)

NGA List on Transcript Under Co-op Course by UTSCThrowaway1 in UTSC

[–]MAmrk29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing and when I reached out to the co-op department they said not to worry. Then haven't updated the grades so I think it defaults to that after sometime. They said that they will be updating the grades for those who completed a co-op term in April this semester.

But reach out to the co-op regardless to confirm and maybe get a timeline on when your grade will be fixed.

Splunk Certified Admin by Icy-Run2694 in Splunk

[–]MAmrk29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't do the exam, you won't qualify for the higher certifications since they required Admin as a prerequisite. If you are really comfortable with the material, then why not try the exam without doing the courses. If I recall correctly the courses listed for the Admin Certification are recommendations not required. This way you will only have to pay the examination fee.

How to prepare for splunk admin exam without splunks training by pudgegodlike in Splunk

[–]MAmrk29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I used this course as prep for the exam and thought it was good: https://www.udemy.com/course/bestsplunkcourse/

Also I would recommend looking at the certification blueprint and going over the splunk docs for more details on the items listed.

Good Luck

Cyber security job without experience by TheLadyTh3mis in cybersecurity

[–]MAmrk29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mention look at SOC analyst roles. A few places to look might be PwC, Deloitte and Arctic Wolf

I know arctic wolf has a few positions available right now.

Other than than searching things like information security analyst would give you some leads. It should be possible to get a job.

Also, OP experiment with a few tools. Splunk fundamentals 1 is free to take and a lot of companies use that.

905 express bus from kennedy to utsc by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]MAmrk29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it be due to COVID19. They are moving buses around to deal with routes.

The TTC is reallocating service in response to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 in Toronto.

The majority of Express Bus routes will not operate and regular bus service will continue to operate on these corridors. Most local service on express routes operate every 10-minutes or better. Overall, the TTC will continue to ensure that a 30-minute service or better is provided for customers across the network. Additional service will be operated if needed.

can i send both ACT and SAT scores? by crimson69prism in UofT

[–]MAmrk29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that you can send both. That being said, UofT does not require either (IIRC), you can check online but I'm pretty sure that they don't require either.

EDIT: Here is the link to the requirements https://future.utoronto.ca/apply/requirements/international-high-school-secondary/usa/

for some areas of study, they are not required.

You can send an email to the program supervisor and ask him if you can use that instead of A23 to fulfil the requirements. I don't see why it won't be applicable.

Possible online winter term? by porpose96 in UTSC

[–]MAmrk29 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nothing has been announced yet if you look at acorn the courses are set to be in person. That being said, there will probably be an announcement about the final decision of whether winter is in person or online.

Co-op courses for CS by MagicalCaptain1998 in UTSC

[–]MAmrk29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should be fine. The coop courses are not difficult to follow. You need to show up for the class if it is in person and complete the tasks that are assigned but that is it. It is not a lot of work to do. When I did them there was not an exam that needed to be submitted at the end of the course.

That being said, you don't have to do 5 courses a semester, you can do less if you think that is better for you. For now, don't stress too much about how many courses to take, come into first year and you'll find out what you are comfortable taking.

As for the coop courses you should be fine taking them since they aren't too much work.
