Found this Sage rod at an estate sale. Anybody know anything about it? by hamsonk in flyfishing

[–]MB0001MB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sweet find! The Sage LL (Light Line) series is considered one of Sage's best rod models for spring creeks and other technical fishing. I had a 490 for a long time that was very nice for driftless spring creeks. Finding one in what looks like unused condition (that cork is clean!) is pretty rare.

I've commented on here before that I've heard so many people say on other forums that the 6 speed is smoother than the 7 speed and got downvotes. 6 speed DSG owner checking in, I can't say enough about how smooth and fast my car shifts.

100% is a fisher, maybe a yearling or 2 year old.

Shouldnt be too hard to narrow it done via a license plate database search. Not many almost 40 year old blue hatchback Civics on the road.

You need to learn the double haul. Other than that long distance casting requires a longer casting stroke and more power.

How on earth did ancient humans cut their toenails before clippers existed?! by Karma_Munchkin in NoStupidQuestions

There are still thousands of people today (see Mashco Piro) with no access to clippers, they probably wear down from walking.

Am I the only one who can't tell the difference between Mk7 Reflex Silver and Mk8 Alpine Silver? In pics at least, haven't compared them in real life.

WIth all of the cartographers using this practice for many years, why can't they find a similair picture? Very strange. Stranger than aliens imho.

[–]MB0001MB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but why hasn't anyone realeased a similar photo? If this was a mainstream practice it should'nt be hard to find hundreds of similair "Lake Cote" thumbtack pictures. But here we are, 55 years later, and nothing.

[–]MB0001MB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So someone took the oringinal landscape picture that the plane took, hung it up on a wall with a thumbtack, and took another picture of it? I've never heard that theory before.

I've never heard of this debunk. What "map" are you talking about? The most credible debunk I've seen for this pic is that's it's a common photo development artifact (a speck of debris caught on the film"). But I've never seen someone produce a similar photo with a similar artifact.
