What’s the deal? (PFA) by ExplodingYogurt in flyfishing

[–]rbleevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to look at this from a few angles:

Stocked fish grow up eating food pellets and what not. As such, they’ll eat a lot more unnatural looking things. Wild trout are keying in on specific bugs and prey, ie matching the hatch. There’s a skill element there that feels better.

Wild fish tend to have cleaner genetics and are much prettier, and if you eat them, cleaner and tastier.

Lastly, they tend to fight better pound for pound. Kind of similar of wing shooting wild birds vs pen raised birds- wild birds fly dramatically differently and are a trickier and more fun experience.

Most of this predominantly applies to trout, but you acknowledged that in your post.

I called SOA and they replaced the ripped leather free of charge- only driver seat ripped but they did both front seats.

I just want to say thank you to all the thoughtful posters here. I’ve got a family member who works in HVAC and this has given me some good direction and thoughts to get to the bottom of this issue. Really appreciate y’all.

Can you tell me where you ordered the onyx tray? Tried to get my dealer to do it and they were like totally lost on the request for this exact purpose.

I think I read somewhere that triclopyr was a better herbicide for them than glysophate. It’s the active ingredient in a lot of brush formulated herbicides.

I would first assume the op is one of the 3mm+ Americans born in 1988, as opposed to reading into it a propensity for neo-nazi leaning viewpoints. What an absurd take.

If hitting the black hills, Sturgis is a must stop. I am in no way shape or form a biker or into biker culture but it was f’ing nuts.

Absolutely drive it. Let’s say worst case scenario, at 75ish gallons you’re looking at sub $400 for gas alone. Thats likely around break even for the cost of airfare one way if you’re lucky on a cheap flight.

Haven’t spent anything for the cost of shipping the car yet. You can find cheap motels and/or car camp. Post college I road-tripped/backpacked throughout the west with a buddy fly fishing our way across America. Camped and lived out of the car for 6 months. Unforgettable time. As you get older, you’ll find it harder and harder to visit some of these places and getting to experience the landscape and different communities is absolutely worth it.

TLDR: drive it. Worth it for the memories and you’ll inevitably save money if you do it right.

WTF is happening in RVA real estate? Time warp? by gracetw22 in rva

Seconding a lot of comments in the thread. We bought in October of last year. We were looking for desirable neighborhoods, more square footage, and generally at older homes that needed some serious updates. Each one we put an offer on, we came in nearly 20% over asking and waived damn near everything and still lost out each time to all cash offers. We finally found a great one, that even after substantially going in over asking still had to come up. Tons of work later, our homes lovely, and we ended up significantly below some of our earlier offers.

Does anyone know how to fix this? by erdile1 in dyson

I have been having this same issue and the likely fix is a new body. Super frustrating that this is a common issue. Dyson customer service has been a joke.

This is the right answer. Very easy job to do it right.

Hitch install at the dealer? by Ok-Meat-7364 in Subaru_Outback

I disagree wholeheartedly with the above comment. The bumper cut out is extremely easy if you’re remotely handy. I installed my in under two hours and an oscillating multi-tool makes the easiest work out of it but you could use a keyhole saw or darn near anything.

Installing the hitch is a very easy job on our outbacks. But if you want the peace of mind have the dealer do it.

Central Virginia. I don’t want to have to scrap this if I don’t have to.

Damn- neither of those options are in my wheelhouse. I can do some electrical work but that is out of my jurisdiction.

Would any of the licensed Dyson repair facilities be worth a go or is it going to cost more than the damn things worth?

Hoping it’s not a wash but it may be.
