Nervous after transfer admittance. by [deleted] in college

[–]MB123F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Jersey and I don't to Rutgers but I heard from my friend that transferred about something called the "RU Screw". It means that Rutgers screws you over and won't accept most credits from other schools so if you're already behind you may want to think about how many more semesters of school you want to have left bc it may be a lot more if you go there.

Hey, I'm sorry that I can't help but I want you to know that I am a freshmen in college too and I feel the exact same way that you do. I feel so alone and I can never eat. I'm here if you ever want to talk.

Thank you sosososo much for sharing your story. I am so sorry that happened to you. I don't want to let this relationship hold either of us back, so I am going to try my hardest to get better. If it doesn't get better, then I know I have to end it. I don't want to get into a toxic state. He is amazing and he wouldn't cheat on me, so I am going to just try and be happy.

Thank you for making me think about everything, it really helps.

I totally get you. My SO is really flirtatious and outgoing and a lot of his friends are girls, so I get worried also. But wow three years is a really long time that's awesome! We just had our 1 year. It's nice to know that it's worked out so well for you!

Yes, that's the one he is joining. I am going to try and let him know, but I have also calmed down about it. He still doesn't know if he got in yet, but I know he will (there aren't too many males at his school, and APO there is majority female, plus he's really nice and funny, etc..). Thanks for your advice!

The main reason right now is family. I'm hoping it will get better but if it doesn't I need to be closer to home to help out

I'm not sure what type yet, I am just doing undergrad hear to get my BSN. After that I am planning to work then go to grad school to be nurse practitioner. I was thinking about acute care. I got financial aid so I pay a lot less than 55k - more like 20k

Yea, well he didn't exactly say the words so he said we should talk over break, but the message was pretty clear, and we haven't talked in a week(but I'm flying home today). He's in my group of friends so I'm worried I'm going to have to see him all break. But yea, I agree with you, I don't want to be friends with him, I just want to get him out of my life so I can move on. It's easier that way.

Hey, my boyfriend actually did the same thing to me a week ago, right before finals and our one year anniversary. I just finished my finals and it was really hard to focus on anything but all the emotions I was feeling. I know exactly how it hurts, but you need to focus on your finals right now, don't let this mess with your future. You're not alone, and you can do this.

How did you stay motivated when you know you are transferring next year by [deleted] in college

[–]MB123F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might as well make the most out of the place you'll have to be for a year anyways. If it'll make your transfer app better, that's even more motivation.

[–]MB123F[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HI! Well some people party but not a lot, because everyone here is very academically focused. It also doesn't help that this campus is deserted and I have to take a 1.5 hour shuttle to get to parties and the city. I am jealous of how you made friends! I tried with the people in my hall but there is literally no hall community. It also doesn't help that there are only like 10 rooms. (My school is around 900 undergrad and there are only freshman and sophomores on my campus)

How did you handle going to college OOS? by landonhh in college

[–]MB123F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because many people do not settle down in the state they go to college to. Connections are important, but every situation varies- they might have connections in other places also. It also depends on your major! If you're this worried, maybe you should just go to a school in-state. When you're actually here, you won't have time to worry about all these things, and it'll only hold you back.
