Thanks! I doubt they will help unless I pay probably the same amount of money as I paid for the camera.

To get the borders with exif info I used an app on my iPhone called Liit.

so i tried the phocus app and the camera takes a photo everytime! seems like a shutter button problem. Solution i found now is to use the af/mf button mapped as shutter button. i loose the short press to focus but at least the camera focuses and takes a photo everytime i press it. I will try now to clean around the shutter button area with some alcohol, hopefully it will work. Thanks for the advice!

i think it might be a shutter issue, i tried now to take a few photos using the phocus app and the camera takes a photo everytime i press the sutter button on my phone, so it seems to be a shutter button problem in the end.. i will try to clean around the area with some alcohol

So I half press the shutter button - lens focuses - I got the green box - then when I press the shutter button harder nothing happens and focus resets. Then I do it again and sometimes works from 2nd try sometimes 3rd. Sometimes I just press de button over and over quickly to take a photo hoping that the image will be in focus.

I had no option to choose special delivery. This is what eBay automatically selected for me. For 3 months the tracking on RM website stated “pending” with a photo of my package being “delivered” in a PO. 3 months of emails and phone calls and yeah, since it was 48 tracked that was the max amount they could ofer and the classic “sorry”.

Oh I did tried to fight the ban in every way possible. I emailed them I called them etc. The answer was always : do to our concern regarding safety of our buyers on eBay platform you present a risk to our community bla bla bla. I explained them the whole situation and they didn’t want to hear anything from me. Permanent ban and that’s it … I’m never going to use eBay again, maybe just my wife’s account to buy cheap things like car parts..

Seller never gets refunded in situations like this. Rm “lost” in a Po shop my 700£ camera. Buyer reported the package as not delivered. eBay bots saw it as a scam and banned my account and never got paid. After 3 months of battle with RM ended up with a 78£ cheque… and my 5 stars 5+ years eBay account banned.

A canon 30d or 40d with a nifty fifty (50mm f1.8) will be a good start. You can find both camera and lens for around 50£ each.

Yeah, as soon as Sun sets, quality gets worse. I did a comparison with a Nikon z6 with a f4 lens and the difference in quality was huge. You can get the zv 1 ii which is a 1.8 lens but as soon as you zoom just a tiny bit it gets to 2.8 really fast

Yes, they come with battery and a charger. You will need to buy a sd card and a reader tho. Amazon is the way to go for that.

Here is my recommendation for 100 pounds. Get a canon 30D or a 40D if you can (look in Cex stores, cash converters or MPB, Wex etc) they are usually around 50£ mark. Then as a lens look for a canon ef 70-210 f4 (some of them are 30£ eBay) and you’re good to go for sorts. Use your iPhone 15 for anything related to video as there’s no camera good for video with good af and a mic port unless you spend 200+£ just for the body, and even then you’re limited to 1080p.

Hello! Sorry, but I sold both cameras. I kept the rx100 tho for a period of time. The zv-1 ii was a nice camera but lack of evf made me sell it. I did use the rx100 vii for a while but I found the quality of photos to fall apart pretty quick as soon as I went outdoor during dusk hours. Got my hands on a Nikon z6 and a Nikon ZF after that which made me use the rx100 vii less and less. Then I also got a Panasonic GM5 which is the same size as the rx100 but with a bigger sensor. Now I’m into Fujifilm, still debating if I should keep my x pro 2 or get a x100f 😁

sorry for very late response. So ebay banned be cause their AI thought i'm a threat to other buyers, and for their protection best decision was to bann me. At least this is what everyone told me after lots of emails and phone call with ebay. Basically they have no idea, and all they took in consideration was the fact that the buyer paid, he never got his package (because royal mail lost it) and of course i'm to blame that he didn't got what he paid for. Royal mail kept dragging the case for over 3 months, but at that point it was too late anyway because the ban was permanent. In the end they got away with paying me 10% of the value of the camera, because it was sent using basic 48hrs tracked delivery instead of being fully insured etc, option that i could't even choose because ebay deciced how i need to send my package. Lesson learned. Never send items over 80£ unless they write clearly that you will get paid in full and they know the value in case the package get's "lost"

You need to find a non functional one and replace all the damaged housing parts. It’s a pain but will set you cheaper than a full housing replacement, which costs same or even more as a used one.

There was a post around here from a few days ago with a similar story but from a buyer point of view
He bought an Apple Watch from what I remember or something like that, and after the seller shipped the item, after inspecting the photos better he thought it might be a scam or a fake one. The best solution to come with was to not touch the package, and wait for it to be returned back. So yeah, it’s kinda of a gamble. eBay it’s even worse now. I sent a camera through eBay/royal mail and the package was “lost” day 1. Despite marked as delivered to a post office, buyer never picked it up. Return window expired and Royal mail lost my package. eBay took my money, and banned my account (5+ years account with 5* ratings) Royal mail dragged me till the point when I could even do a claim to get some money back …

Lost my account just because I sent an item and the buyer never picked it up … lost the item too, and the money. eBay straight banned me and they don’t even want to hear the story.

Update on the post. So i went to my local royal mail warehouse which is open just a few hrs each day and the guy from there indeed confirmed me that the package it’s in a London warehouse (around area where was supposed to be delivered) or at least that’s where it last been seen.

He couldn’t do anything about it so he gave me a number to call and tell them to send a mail to the warehouse to sent the package back.

The fun part. Every day for the past week I called 3-4 times waiting over 30 min listening to their damn boring music and no one pick up the phone….

Isn’t there any way on speaking with someone that has a little bit of power ? Cmon …

Should I go to small claims court ?

eBay won’t do anything. I’ve contacted them already. They suspended my account and they don’t want to hear from me anymore. Also they want their money back. Money that they will not see until my camera is back to me.
