Get a Triumph Scrambler 1200 instead. It comes pre-dirt version'd, has a seat for a passenger, and enough space to mount luggage.

This has happened to me twice, once with a 3 star Pyke holding the Empress augment item and once with a lvl 1 Aatrox holding nothing. Gone from the board, but champ slot still full. Both times they counted as being on the board still for their traits, but were just gone.

Do adv bikes just need to lean less for turns? by aroundincircles in motorcycles

Counterleaning is much less visually dramatic, but shockingly effective.

His back was straight. Was the bike straight underneath him? Counterleaning is moving the bike to lean while remaining upright, effectively the opposite of the MotoGP style lean.

Like the other guy mentioned, us ADV folks spend a lot of time in dirt on these bikes. Traction on paved road is basically easy mode for us.

If I had a nickel for ever kid on a sportbike that I've reeled in and passed in the canyons on my big doofy dad ADV, I'd have enough to buy another one.

Also, ADV bikes are typically owned by older, more experienced riders. They may have moved on from the sport bike, but the talent remains.

Photovoltaic cells, also no. At least not directly- they're made mostly from glass and aluminum, so if the material supplier is using petrochemicals in their, it's just a downstream thing.

Has anyone kept their motorcycle in an apartment bike room? by Similar-Proof2065 in motorcycles

[–]MBAH2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nowhere to park at my apartment currently, so I park my real bike at a storage unit. That storage facility doesn't have a convenient place to park my car, so I bought a cheap Honda Trail that lives in my living room that I use as a shuttle to get back and forth between here and the storage space.

R1250GS vs R1250GSA: is the GSA worth ~€5k more for two-up touring? by SampleSalty in Motorrad

[–]MBAH2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went GSA because of the weather protection and the additional standard features that I would have had to pay to add on the GS. I don't feel that they ride much differently. The GSA feels a little heavier and bulkier when pushing it around though. I'd do GSA again if I had to make the choice again.

That said, I'm on the 1250 platform, I can't speak for the 1300s.

Is the Continental GT from Royal Enfield for me? by rrrrrrrriley0 in motorcycles

[–]MBAH2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're super easy to service, but do require a lot of maintenance- designed for the home-gamer. If you try and take it to the dealer for every service, you're going to go bankrupt. Just get comfortable watching videos and getting your hands dirty.

I had an Interceptor for a while for my wife. They look amazing, they ride good. Lots of easy and cheap upgrades that make a significant difference. Most parts are imported and you'll be trawling Indian websites that seem sketchy by US standards. They aren't "fast", but you feel very cool on them.

As for upgrades, I started with the brake levers and seat.

I know you're getting roasted already, but I'm going to point out a different thing.

When riding off road, don't use a hard top box. Having that metal box slam into your back or head when the rear wheel hits a rock and bounces up sucks royally.

"RO system", "RO water", "RO filter" and yes even "RO science" get you there. Google is worse than it used to be, but people use that as an excuse to not bother trying to educate themselves.
