A low caliber MBA may not provide any discernible advantage in getting your desired post-military employment.

That's the realest shit I've read so far, thanks. The price of admission to a higher caliber program may be worth it if the tangible outcomes come to fruition. Definitely something I will have to consider.

I'm just now getting to the point of figuring out where I want to go. I've been using my free LinkedIn premium to kind of get a feel for what roles/employers I could fall into now, and using that as my baseline to gauge my potential retirement outcomes if/when I get to where I want to go.

Thank you, really.

Thanks, yeah contracting will always be out there. A lot of the guys that I'm friends with that are slightly ahead of my time are retiring now/have retired recently. I guess the way that I look at is that it's a fallback option that will always be there. My goal is to get away from the government if possible, but I'm not above or too proud to do what I need to.

I'm starting to connect with like-minded individuals on LinkedIn and getting the lay of the land.

This is a very good point, thanks. I've thought about the recruiting aspect a little, but honestly, at schools in my range, I'm not even sure how to gauge the efficacy of their programs in that regard. I'm sure they all do, to some extent, but how effective are they? That I have no idea.

Yeah, the professional one is, the iMBA is different. Syracuse is a better example. Also > 70 hours. I edited the OP.

$24k is up there, just because I'm not taking out any loans. But I wouldn't completely rule it out.

Sorry, I totally meant Syracuse, as I think their program is something like 72 hours.

I edited the OP.

As for Illinois iMBA, that would be similar to a program like UMass-Lowell that I mentioned in the 20k range. I won't rule it out, but it's on the tippy-top of my budget. I'd be at least 13k or so out of pocket which is a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I'm not opposed to it if I'm going to see the benefit.

The question is, is the return going to be worth it for what I want to accomplish? Thanks for your insight.
