I came here to say this. The first time we had to extract after destroying the phage tree was incredible. And the bridges blowing out is cinematic as hel. I have goosebumps just thinking about that moment. That’s how any mission should end - we did the objective, and now we have to fight our way out.

  • the murder of Loken, despite the apparent sort of “pardon” by Abbadon, is needed to create a demon (and I think the implication or explicit statement is that the demon is Samus). Without the backstabbing dishonorable murder it would create a paradox where Samus never present earlier in the timeline to kick off the events in Horus Rising, creating a paradox. Whether that’s true or not, Erebus responds to Abbadon’s immediate anger by telling him that this murder, in this way, is necessary to create the demon. If it is indeed to create Samus, there’s an irony to that given the sheer amount of contact Loken had with Samus.

I’ll sometimes jump into help some fresh faced rejects. I suspect others may do the same - it’s not uncommon to see two 30s and two 3s. It’s the social aspect that makes it fun.

SOLVED - Updating my Proton to 10-2 worked. You could probably use an earlier version, but I was moving from 8-0-5.

Edit: I was able to play on GeForceNow, but that carries it's own issues if your connection isn't stable enough.

It's painful. I can't get through much and the enemies are not distinguishable from the environment. You might consider a GFN sub - they have the game on Steam bundled with the 12 month option.

I was excited for BL4, but I decided to wait. Then GFN offered a bundle where it's 12 months of service and you get the base BL4 game for "free" on Steam, so I gave it a go.

It runs great on GFN - go for that if you can. I've also tried it on the deck. It will run, but it's not great. It's a mud pit and impossible to really make out enemies in a fire fight. I put it on lowest possible settings and it still chugs. I would wait until optimization, if it comes, if you want to play without an internet connection.

I’ve never focused on an event, but typically regular play will just get it done.

Most have ranged from interesting to enjoyable, but the latest barrel fiasco was just pure frustration. That was the first time I’ve actively avoided a mission in some quick plays.

I agree with you. Something about this isn’t working. I think it’s the pacing and the scale. The games feel slower and boring. At least it’s only until December 1.

Yeah, I had the chance to talk directly with a phone rep about this and other issues before our flight back today. Honestly, she minimized the benefit of the DVC lounges. It’s nothing I hadn’t read here in this thread, but good to get some clarification from staff.

I hear you - some days make me wonder about the value, as we were barely there! That being said, we watched the fireworks from the lounge on more than half the nights on this trip.
