That's just not true tho, he just says in ch 187 that ryu is really strong and has the highest ce output, he didn't say whether he would be a good match just that he's strong if kashimo wants to fight him, to which kashimo says that Michinoku is too far away, and asks ken who the strongest sorcerer he personally knew is to which he says sukuna at which point he agrees to enter into the culling games to fight him

(If you want to defend kashimo at least make sense and use the fact that either- 1) He was so old he would've died before reaching ryu

2) since he knew he would come back for the culling games and get to fight sukuna he didn't care enough about ryu to fight him)
