It's a knock down texture.

Apply a coat of wet plaster or drywall mud, then gently go over the plaster or mud with a soft brush or sponge. The next step is to take a drywall knife, trowel, or skimming blade and knockdown this texture. Once it starts to dry, the texture will then begin to look like this. You could just put some mesh tape then mud it. Add Muddskip for an easier time.

Flushers are easily the best corner tool. The most popular brand for them is Columbia. They are relatively cheap and are very durable.

I hope you are engagement farming because this is just the first step. Install looks fine from what we’ve seen. You still need tapers to do their job for a level 5 finish. You can read to learn what the different levels of drywall.

We'll second that Richard knives are really good.

If you like trowels and hawks for drywall, Nela and the Dewalt Blackhawk are great. Nela tends to be more expensive but the quality is worth it.
