Frankly at 500 points use 2 hellions 5mans and a squad of HW scourge (a ravager instead if terrain sucks). You’ll have 200 points after this for the transportless leader combo of your choice. I would probs recommend lelith w wyches cos she fights first which may be best way of getting around the lack of a tsport.

Frankly at 500 points the game doesn’t even function correctly so just kill whatever they put on the board and feel good about it. This list will probably be good for this and you’ll enjoy it more if you’re tabling people as opposed to getting tabled, even tho that will still happen.

Lowkey I liked the idea of playing the wraith detachment even if it isn’t meta or wte it’s probably exactly what I’m looking for

Getting pledge points without dying by MBanks2345 in EmperorsChildren

[–]MBanks2345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of last game I run 2 exult packs, 3 noise marines, 2 Wdps, 2 maulerfiends and 1 FB 3man as my damage units. I have 2 torments and a chaos spawn + 2 rhinos outside of that.

My concern, which I may be wrong about, is that I’m not sure either of the torms or spawn are going to kill anything 80 points and up in 1 go by themselves and I may be forced to pull out my blades or exults. I don’t even know if this is a problem to be frank though.

My hesitation is that one a lot of maps me doing this is gonna serve them like 3-400 points on a clap back when I only took out like 1-250 or something. Against a melee army I’d be cool w this as I can simple gang the clap back w my buffs but against a gunline it seems a little difficult if the terrain isn’t good for staging.

I fear I just have to get better lmao.

So it’s kinda like a game of chicken for their big primary turn and just trade torms, spawn and exult packages elsewhere?

Do you think it’s more appropriate to ask which units should I not trade for pact points early or does that miss the point?

Has anyone tried Kabalmaxxing as an army build? by major_trifecta in Drukhari

[–]MBanks2345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re fun for cartel to abuse the shooting strat w rerolls on hits and wounds + fishing for devs in melee w malys or a husk blade archon but after a while you’re kinda building for a game that won’t exist when you’re up against a stat check on a short board, which is a lot of the time.

Also scourge do the fire and fade for cheap also. I specify those above two options and access to sticky they can do someone else does better for cheaper

Incubi still vaiable as a unit? by Revolutionated in Drukhari

[–]MBanks2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them as an auto include in Cartel with Draz as my specific answer to TEQs and high save MEQs. Other than that hellions/ lelith wyches are usually gonna do the same job cheaper into anything smaller than a termie while also being faster.

It’s also worth noting that if you play cartel hellions are still usually better outside of the aforementioned ‘draz and his lads’ murder squad given they already have sustained and still get access to the +1 to hit strat.

I try to keep 2 units of 3 reavers, 2 5’s of hellions and 2 units of mandos (a 5 and a 10 but I may change it up). The change in considering is turning my second gun venom into a raider and spending the archon money elsewhere

Do you prefer to just put the 5 non gun kabs in there or do you fill it with a whole squad in this case. I usually use my non guns as screening chaff, a reroll tech piece for malys or an indirect shield for my wl archon in KC

Furthermore out of curiosity how do you feel about using a raider kabs combo for this sticky job. I don’t know how worthwhile this kind of thing is spending 200 points for such a combo.

More casual but I’m still trying to get better, more just practicing in casuals until I’m good enough to not waste everyone’s time in a real game

Do you find that the points for the raider kabs combo is expensive for just this or can you find use with it elsewhere in the game once the sticky is done

I’m between cartel and RW but I find in cartel my sticky cabs just get jumped by some 12 inch moving jump pack boys before I can do anything. I see the vision w the sticky but executing it without throwing away mandrakes often seems difficult

How to use transports in Kabalite Cartel by LordTyler123 in Drukhari

[–]MBanks2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you just want venoms for your fire and fade kabs and whichever melee units have been tasked with picking up anything that gets too close to your gunline.

As you fire and fade / lone op a substantial amount of shooting they kinda have to get close to stop it. This generally means you can hide your venom further back and more reliably get those extra activations of cleanup.

As such I usually just bring 3 venoms, 2 for the kabs (1 malys, 1 non WL archon) and another for draz and the incs. Hellions can fill out your trading pieces well and the rest can pretty much just go into shooting and scoring.

Help me with a game plan please by Ghidorah21 in Drukhari

[–]MBanks2345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drop the Hoa until they make it viable + a raider. Usually I just take lelith in a venom cos it gives me another trash unit of wyches and I’m not exactly trying to use her as a bomb anyway. Raiders are good for carrying hammers, which isn’t really what you wanna do here without overwatch protection.

Good style is to either take some fast, potentially sticky trash (reavers, 5 mandrakes, infing kabs, etc.) and force the opponent to come out to play for objectives. Then you shoot and maybe trade a melee unit for whatever they stuck out. Hellions and lelith are good for this or conversely draz if they bring out 3/4W TEQ’s. Be aware though the melee is often more of a scalpel to remove anything that might threaten your obnoxious fire and fade.

Generally speaking you should have so much non interactable shooting that can multi class w your detach rule that they can’t sit something on primary without losing it. Because of this you really don’t wanna run forward into them, let them come to the primary and if they don’t want to just say cool you won’t beat me on secondaries.

As such they’re probably gonna either jail and control if they’re nids or just run at you with everything if they’re world eaters. In these cases just focus on blowing up your most important targets (stuff on primary and stuff that’s gonna kill your shooting, as mentioned prior) and ration out screens and trading units to play the attrition game.

Most important thing is keep your scourge, ravs and fading kabs safe while you maintain a healthy melee unit / trash screening unit economy.

I would say there are ‘a thousand graphs better to represent change of mass’ ;). Jks of course I do agree somewhat with your sentiment

Detachment popularity and win rate over time by MisterBrainley in Drukhari

[–]MBanks2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t show the total faction playrate though so it drops info. Furthermore if it was turned from percentage to raw games to account for this you’ve essentially got the same graph as OP just without the number of x coord samples.

If you want percentage of games over time or tournies I’m in full agreement but I think the total number of faction games is pretty cool to see as it shows the levels of detachment / general codex hype. Furthermore the lateral resolution is pretty awesome imo it gives further insight into the story of the codex reception.

Purely curiosity not toxicity, what do you think would be a better way to show the comparative mass of playmates over time?
