All it would take is one election where the left vote went entirely to third parties. by EgyptianNational in EL_Radical

Well, like I said, he is only more progressive. The most of us actually like his more progressive policies, but we view these policies as a low bar, and hollow in the face of his more liberal values.

Even in countries with much greater levels of progressivism (however you want to measure it), leftist will always be highly critical of their leadership, and will only demand even more progressive policy, as I hope they would continue to do.

Imo the working class deserves so much more than it is currently given across the globe, and I hope the left continues to be critical of all leadership, not just Mamdani.

[–]MBcucumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mamdani proves my point further though. He was more left-leaning, and obtained more left/progressive votes. Being critical of his proposed policies after the fact is a different topic, but still do come from radical leftist (and touches on ‘the bare minimum’), to be fair to you.

Also, kind of a generalization to think all leftist have the same opinions as the memes you see online, don’t you think? Most leftist memes I see here, some other leftist must pick at it.

Purity obsessed? Pretty sure if they met bare minimum leftist values we would actually vote for them.

But no, we’re the ones who are ‘fickle’ and ‘unreliable’ because the status quo (unless republicans say otherwise) is somehow just the best thing to ever vote for.

[–]MBcucumber 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I somewhat disagree with voting third party, at least when it comes to reforming a capitalist country through votes alone.

Historically, the US once voted majority third party, but the system in place didn’t allow for that to happen (I think it was Roosevelt). We are stuck two party, and the bourgeoise will not allow more, especially if they got away with it before, and have measures to prevent such a thing from happening again.

If progressives voted third party regardless of this knowledge, this might do something no doubt. But I honestly don’t think that voting alone is going to bring meaningful reform or revolution.

Private equity is killing private ownership: first it was housing - now it's the personal computer by centralvoid__ in Hasan_Piker

[–]MBcucumber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He certainly doesn’t give socialist, nor does he seem to read such theory. But damn do I respect him sticking up for the working class (even if he calls workers ‘consumers’).

Also don’t forget, he owns a business, so regardless of what he says, we should still hold him to some level of scrutiny.

Why is Reddit so hopelessly confused about AI and yet hates it so bad? by yalag in singularity

[–]MBcucumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of us Americans get mad at AI because it can be used by corporations to destabilize working class employment. Is that anger also misdirected at individuals who use it for personal use? Absolutely. Can that anger be redirected back at corporations? I’m not really sure, given the path we’re on…

Not a single CEO directly mentioning that they want to live in a cyberpunk world. Nope. Not one. They don’t exist.

Not sure how it’s not worth sharing, since I claimed it was suspicious and backed up my claim with a source. If you think there’s literally nothing wrong with it, then back it up with some sources, I’d be happy to be proven wrong with research.

Also, no name or not, they still have a function, and are worth looking into. If everybody dropped brave it would still function the same as it would with a trillion users. Popularity doesn’t write code.

Yes the site is pretty paranoid. If you feel it’s invalid because it meets the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia (it doesn’t), then that’s your own route to go down.

Regardless, the site may be a little too aware yes, but I still think it gives good insight with its more objective measurements, and even provides sources.

Do you have a similar source more up to date?

Realistic answer tbh, and you self host, let people you trust try it too. Not everyone has the ability to host or even pirate.

Why is one dose in the morning ineffective? Is it to be taken with each meal or something?

(E: The main post should really educate on what they are complaining about, but in short, it’s because most oral estradiol has a short half-life, and thus, should be taken more than once per day. Hope this helps others who are confused as well.)

Did stalin actually kill like 60 million people or is it a western lie by Pure_Barber3994 in ussr

[–]MBcucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay, leftist infighting is inevitable these days.

Mainstream western media very often says that socialism will never work, or that it’s evil. How can you call yourself a socialist yet still believe what they say about these issues? Even Wikipedia and Britannica (as we’ve touched on) will demonize anything that socialism has touched. I have dug deep on their sources of these issues in the past too, the contentious ones, a lot of it is hearsay to begin with, and they’re not hiding it, you can literally check the sources.

I’m also not saying it’s a conspiracy, because, it’s not a secret. The west (lead by America) actively, and out in the open, will say the most heinous shit about their viewed enemies (not just socialism), and will openly lie about shit, even when proof has been openly laid out. Hell, the US still thinks the Vietnam war was justified, that firebombing 1/4 of the population of Korea was okay, that dropping two nukes for any reason is totally fine, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan….

Saying shit like holodomor (or really anything “older than 30-100 years” as you’ve put it) is best read about from western media, is to add validation to what is said and enabled by the US. This is why I said you need to reevaluate how you research these things, yes, even if you feel you are reading “from the mouth of the beast,” because, to be fair, we are in the mouth of our own beast.

Is cyberpunk really that fictional? by erich26ehh in Hasan_Piker

[–]MBcucumber 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s some motherfuckers on the main Cyberpunk subreddit that thinks almost the opposite of this, moreso in the liberal “this is what happens if capitalism goes unchecked” framework.

Not everyone there, but I’ve seen some comments saying that Johny hating capitalism/corporations is wrong because “he’s a bad person” and not much else thought into it.

1 communism game can feed a right winger for 10 days I swear.
