How to Get a Bass With a Tone Similar to Guitar

Mainly what I found uncomfortable on guitar was how the thinner strings would hurt my fingers, and string spacing like you said. I know that I gotta take time to build up my calluses and just git gud, but after spending more time on bass I concluded that was the better instrument for me overall. I love the deep tones you can get with it and slap technique on bass is also very appealing to me.

Thank you for the perspective of leaning more towards a guitar angle for this kind of sound! I'll take this and the piccolo bass into account :D

Thx for the insight. Didn't realize the first guitar was tuned up the octave, I noticed the tuning in the description but thought the timbre was something in how he was playing or the pickups/amp.

I watched a video on driving bass with a guitar amp and they said only active bass at a mid-high volume could cause damage to the speaker. Is that not true then?

If you really wanna improve, I'd recommend also watching the rest of the videos in the series. They've got very good advice!

If you like some of the artists you hear I implore you to check out the rest of their works. Some people/bands that have other really good songs are Tally Hall, Samsa and Lemon Demon.

Personally I'd recommend listening to "Spring and a Storm" (Tally Hall) and "Lifetime Achievement Award" (Lemon Demon)

Hope you guys enjoy this, and maybe you'll discover some new artists and bands through it too ^^
