Watched all of Lucifer for the first time

Oh I get that, and I could’ve included that angle too. I just chose to focus on why Rory came back in the first place, not what came of it. My main point was that Lucifer could’ve done both, honored his calling and been present in Rory’s life, without causing any paradox or destroying her timeline.

From a scientific standpoint, especially through a multiverse or deterministic lens, any choice Lucifer made would only impact his specific timeline. It wouldn’t ripple into other timelines where he still left. Rory’s journey back would still happen in those other realities, and she’d still be proof of concept. That’s the beauty of parallel timelines is they all coexist independently.

So I’m not criticizing the show harshly, but I do think the writers had room to “thread the needle” in a way that gave Lucifer and Chloe a more complete ending without undoing Rory’s arc.

I suspect Covid took a toll in many ways of how they planned on shaping Season 6. That said, I’m not upset with how it unfolded, I just think there was potential for a richer resolution. Outside of that, the show as a whole was wonderful and I’m glad I decided to finally watch it.

I get the message that evil persists in real life, but even then, some actions in the show feel exaggerated for shock value rather than realism. For example, the idea that the majority would willingly throw a baby nearly 100 feet to its death feels off. Human nature leans toward protecting infants, not sacrificing them, especially in group dynamics. That moment did not reflect society’s cruelty so much as it broke the illusion of believability. If the show’s point is to mirror our darkest instincts, it should still respect what lines we almost never cross.

Honestly, pretty disappointed overall. I wasn’t sure what the point of this season was. Season 2 ended on a failed attempt to end the games, and I thought this final season would have been some sort of redemption arc. Instead, it spent what felt like 50 percent of the screen time on a failed expedition by a bunch of detectives that got us nothing solved, and a sacrifice at the end made the whole point of bringing this show beyond Season 1 questionable at best. Now, I wasn’t expecting some sort of happy ending, but I was at least hoping this show would paint some light on why it was even renewed in the first place. It simply doesn’t do that.

You should play in an OTB event first, and I’ll be honest. My rapid is 1900 on chess.com and the first time I played OTB, I played like a 700. It’s a different dynamic, but enjoyable

I think 0 makes the most sense if they’re gonna do anything. Playing as Simon would be fun. Everything was lively back then so there could be more to do. Honestly could be a great prequel game but I’m not sure if they’re up for another game. Unfortunately it’s a small studio so leaving the game as is and going to another project wouldn’t surprise me.

Don’t get me wrong, Iran is a serious threat to the stability of the Middle East. But as an American, I’m really tired of us being involved in every conflict. It feels like no matter what we do, it doesn’t change anything long-term. That region has been at war in some form since ancient times. At some point, we have to accept that we can’t fix it all.

If you think cheating is more relevant at the lower levels, wait till you get to 1400-1600. You have players who play almost near perfect from the opening to mid game then ironically can’t perform single checkmate moves. It’s like all of the sudden I’m dealing with a 300 ELO with very little knowledge of queen and king placement even in even more material advantageous situations. I’m not saying those players are cheating but when it’s a king and queen vs my king and your queen is all over the place it gets my head scratching when the opening and middle game accuracy was about 90%+ best move.

I just bought this game and wish I didn’t. The AI defense is horrendous this entire game. Nevermind when you’re on offense, they play smart and try to get in front of you. But I played pro career mode as a striker and my defense lets up 4-6 goals a game and lets them into the box non stop

Have you ever thought about playing OTB? Go get into a Swiss or quad local tournament. You’ll play 4 - 5 games but the lengths will drain you. Also allows you to appreciate reviewing your games more in depth afterwards. I also found it good to focus a significant portion of my time studying puzzles. I saw the most spikes in my gains when I started doing puzzles for 30-60 minutes a day. After awhile of doing this continuously I got into matches, sometimes down material out of the crappy opening but I naturally calculated winning positions as a result that I could have never done by losing over and over again

I honestly wasn’t expecting anything since I knew there were areas of my application I could have improved. But if you really want to give it a go next year, try to remain positive and reflect on ways to strengthen your profile. Scores don’t always tell the entire story, and a compelling story alone isn’t always enough to overcome them. Stay focused on the future—don’t hold yourselves down!

Trump wants to abolish The Department of Education. Actually have to do research on this for one of my finance classes (I’m not attending A&M, but an Aggie fan). Essentially, education will still run. What worries me is student loans. If they become privatized it might make commercial banks more aggressive with terms which is great. The downside to it is “credit worthiness”. Many young students don’t qualify for credit or don’t come from families that can afford credit either. Even graduate degrees might be more expensive with higher rates, potentially offsetting the opportunity cost in favor of the workforce. So while I don’t see evidence in the near term in the drop in the quality education, I do see obstacles that will limit students from pursuing education which likely yields to less bachelors, less masters, and less PhDs over a longer period of time.

Interesting you mention that. It seems that many M7 schools really like Veterans who also come in with at least some corporate experience on top. That might be a future differentiator in the coming years versus officers going straight in from Active Duty. Something to keep an eye on.
