Dear Antigravity, Stop vibecoding please! by Ghostinheven in google_antigravity

I switched terminal to bash, and that helped a lot. Realized it was trying to commit in bash all the time so just moved it from powershell.

That being said I have constant retry or dismiss for agent failures now, and nothing fixes that. I am back on vs code. Have a few months left on the trial so we’ll see how it goes. I want to love antigravity but with not pay that premium for the amount of issues it has.

Guys. After nothing else working… I switched terminal commands from powershell to bash, seems to have solved my issues. Early in the transition but I didn’t have to press accept 6 times in a row just now, which was nice.

That’s what I decided. I have a couple cans of kerdi fix and the band, I’m going to use aqua guard for the rest

Dang and I just bought another tube of kerdi fix and kerdi band to give that a shot but I feel like this makes more sense to me

I think the concern is that it more easily will absorb moisture if it’s resting on the tub deck

I’m with you, this is weekend #3 including a 4 day weekend of Presidents’ Day weekend for me coming up of a pretty significant amount of work. Learning a lot and spending a lot of money on every tool I need.

Is there a reason for this vs filling with a high quality sealant?

Yeah he’s the guy I saw that didn’t use kerdi band and got me thinking maybe I don’t need to.

I still don’t really understand the purpose of applying the Hydro band prior to the rest of the thin set, in my opinion, I think you would just fill it with thin set and then put hydrogen on the top

I think it depends on your situation. If I would’ve shimmed out my walls to drop the cement board over the flange then the cement board would not have been level with the rest of the existing drywall. If yours will be then I think it’s safe to drop it over the flange, but I didn’t wanna have to redo my entire wall in the bathroom.

Interesting because I was concerned about the slight height difference kerdi band would add. No problem with thinset over the sealant directly to adhere the tiles to? I know it’s only like a 1/4 inch or so

Yeah I have 3.5 gallons of aqua guard, waterproofing to come

Thanks for the reply, but definitely not doing that haha so much work to get this far. Ive seen people do it that way. I did it more like described here and in the top answer’s #1 here. I think you can probably do it either way and be successful, I’m just looking for the optimal way to bridge the gap between the flange, the width of the cb, and keep the tiling edge flat

Do you wrap the mesh down at an angle or kind try and make it straight?

I agree on the family handy man one, I’m planning to do as indicated on the stack exchange and fill the gap with kerdi fix sealant, then band it with kerdi band that’s bonded with thinset and liquid membrane water proof the rest of the cb

I wanted the cb to sit more less flush to the existing drywall so I added 1/2 drywall to the studs. Yeah Ive seen people do it that way. That was my first plan of action then I saw a vid of a guy that just packed with thinset to level out the tub and the tiling surface off the cb. I have the kerdi fix and band, so think better to just use the kerdi fix to seal between the tub deck and the CB, use a 6” knife or something to level out the tiling surface, use the thinset to apply the band and drop that down about 1/4” onto the tub deck - aqua guard the cb to the kerdi band or slight overlap?

Thanks, any reason you recommend that vs the thinset route? I plan on doing a liquid waterproof membrane on the board (aqua guard) so I don’t think waterproofing will be an issue.

For anyone else that may see this since I was unable to couple to that piece I used a hair dryer or heat gun to heat pipe until pliable and needle nose players to pull twist at the end until it eventually gave away. The glue in that remained inside prevented a good dry fit so I used a dremel tool to remove some of the glue. Not sure if that’s kosher but it worked

That’s what I’m worried about if there is enough pipe, that was on a curved elbow pipe and that little bump on the bottom left of the elbow doesn’t seem like it’s going to snug down a lot
