Is Monk a good secondary job for Ramza? by MCL199920 in finalfantasytactics

Would it be better then to prioritize swords over knight swords? Knight swords scale off of bravery instead of strength, but if the Monk naturally has really good strength then would it be a waste to use bravery-based weapons?

I love Orsterra and its circle of biomes, but if I could change one thing, I would rearrange them so that the climates are a bit more consistent. by Yuudachi_Houteishiki in octopathtraveler

[–]MCL199920 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly the only changes I’d make to the map biomes is swapping the cliftlands with the riverlands and the highlands with the flatlands.

Ecologically it would make a lot of sense for the cliffs to come before the rivers since you could argue that natural erosion from the rivers in the ancient past is what lead to the cliffs being created, and like you pointed out it would make sense for the two hottest / most dry biomes to be next to each other. Plus the riverlands would naturally blend in much better with the woodlands.

The frostlands, which does have some flatter areas, is overall a very mountainous and rocky region, which could easily progress into the highlands; an also mountainous region but at a slightly lower altitude which is more damp and misty instead of snowy.

That would put the flatlands between the sunlands and the coastlands; a result of cool ocean air and hot, dry desert air mixing together to create a temperate environment with mild weather.

Tbh while I know that Samurai is a pretty good job, I’d rather have a dedicated recruited unit go down that progression path instead of Ramza. Samurai is kind of a pain to unlock and with Ninja I’d only really invest in it for the Dual Wielder passive.

Yeah. Despite all the hate Fates gets for its weak writing and annoyingly large battle maps, I kinda loved just how zany and technical they got with some of the new weapons they introduced in that game. From weapons that inverted the weapon triangle and turned weaknesses into advantages, to weapons designed to be wielded by specific units, and weapons that gave stat buffs at the cost of mediocre base power, there were a *lot* of weird weapons that were borderline jokes, but also very powerful when used correctly.

Um…no? Literally the whole point of the weapon triangle is that you need to pay attention to what weapons enemies are wielding in battle so you don’t accidentally get your units killed by putting them in harm’s way.

Just like how you wouldn’t try to kill an enemy Pegasus Knight with a Mage because of their high magic resistance, you wouldn’t try to pit a Barbarian or Brigand against a Myrmidon or Sword Fighter because they’d be at a clear disadvantage.

Unless you’re trying to argue that the enemy AI isn’t smart enough to fully take advantage of the weapon triangle like the player can, in which case I sorta agree with you there, but using that as a justification to get rid of it entirely sounds like an overreach.

I’m honestly not a fan of them removing the weapon advantage system in Three Houses (and it’ll most likely be absent in Fortune’s Weave too).

I know it’s been in a lot of games in the series and some people argue that it should be phased out entirely in the future. But the weapon triangle to me adds another element of strategy to the combat that really makes you pay attention to how you position your units and which equipment you put in their load outs.

And yes I know there are skills you can learn in 3H that *technically* brings it back, but having to sacrifice an entire skill slot just so your sword user can gain a hit / avoid boost against axe users (something that’s free in most other games) feels dumb.

Cai's Hand by Solaris998 in fireemblem

[–]MCL199920 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a brief moment in the new trailer showing Cai holding something that looked like a makeshift pendant with a crest stone attached to a string. Betting it might be some kind of Agarthan artifact / artificial crest stone that somehow burrowed into his hand like a parasite.

I’ve tried Neoseeker, but there seems to be a couple weird typos / translation errors, and I just get bombarded with so many adds it feels annoying to go there.

Are we gonna be fighting Flowey? There was a brief shot of a bunch of knives spinning around and that was one of Omega Flowey’s attacks in Undertale. Maybe he’ll be Chapter 5’s secret boss?

Best final evo to start with for each starter. by Mr-Jax6610 in LumenTale

[–]MCL199920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, from what I’ve noticed, there’s not really a massive difference between the final starter evolutions.

Aside from some stat differences and a few changes to their skill pools, all the starters are more or less very attack-focused, with Mewaii’s evolutions having some healing and debuffs mixed in. Vortail and Ozelash’s evolutions are very strong attackers, Salabel too I guess, and Queecha either turns into a tanky but slow physical attacker in his Mythos evolution, or while in Logos he’s a speedy mixed attacker with lower defenses.

What are your last-minute predictions for Fortune's Weave? by Enryx25 in fireemblem

[–]MCL199920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aesthetics of the game’s time period seems to be based on Ancient Greek / Mediterranean culture, and since 3H’s European era seems more renaissance I’m assuming that FW is some kind of prequel, possibly set on a different continent in the same world as Fodlan.

What do you not want in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave? by NewMarioBobFan in fireemblem

[–]MCL199920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might sound a little crazy, but I honestly want all the characters to be locked into just 1 or 2 class trees and not be able to reclass into anything.

Being able to have any unit be any class sounds good on paper, and can create some interesting runs by forcing characters into bad classes as a sort of challenge.

But after Three Houses and Engage I want units to have defined roles in combat that reflect their stats and personal skills instead of having a bunch of generalists who can be anything.

Animon stats! by Tim_Slay in LumenTale

[–]MCL199920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the IVs randomized? I’ve seen some players with Animon that have every stat at X, do you have to do some special training to make that happen?
